Default My brand new Suzuki GS150 (2014 model)

Bought this bike yesterday and Alhamdulillah its just what I wanted.Very comfortable and smooth ride.
    Fuel mileage:38kmpl
As soon as petrol finished in tank I added 1 litre of petrol and reset trip meter to 0.on continuous jerks recorded the reading. Did this procedure twice and got 38kmpl on first and 36 on second.
Driving speed was mainly below 40 and max was 60.
    Custom made muffler:

While driving the bike at 40kmph I heard some noise from front side when I applied the front brakes. I again accelerated a bit and applied the brake but there was no noise.but aftertime in stop and go motion the noise occurs very rarely. Don't know whether its from the drum brakes or other problem.shoud I get it checked from where I bought or will the noise finish after sometime.
GS 150 experts please shed some info.

If it's a squeaky sound then get your brake shoe changed as the leather on the shoe has worn out and the metal is touching the drum
    Or
if your shoe is new then ask mechanic to smooth out the drum from inside by using raigmal //sand paper

common problem in drums.. i had the mechanic apply some grease to the hub and after that the squeaking sound has gone from the front brakes, the rear drum still has it. one thing is that in the morning you will always hear this squeaking sound, but it'll go away after 1 or 2 hard presses of the brake. nothing to worry about.

Q1.Can I use car wash to clean the bike?
Yes, ofcourse you can there is no harm in it.

Q2.Can I use car wax for waxing it?If not, then which polish(specially designed for bikes) should I apply?
No polish is designed specially for bikes it all ends to how much you wana spend. Normally people buy Cosmic Wax for bikes as its cheap and shine lasts longer. However you can go for Turtle or Meguiers if pocket allows

Q3.What should I use on engine to keep it clean from mud and dust?
Well as far as polish is concerned you can use brasso or turtle chrome wax. Both keep engine shiny however there is no solution for keeping engine clean. It depends on how you ride the bike

Q4.How often should I wash+wax/polish my bike to keep it away from rusting?
Depends on climatic conditions you living in. Normally enthusiasts clean and wax thier bike in a week. However if climate is dry and no rain then detailing after 15 days is good.

Q5.Should I consider service station as an option to service my bike?
Not really, They have high pressure which causes problem in starting and other mechanical parts. High pressure water seeps into joints and later cause many problems

Q6.Should I use WD-40 on different parts(small nuts, bolts)of the bike to prevent rusting?
Yes! you can. I use WD 40 specifically for shocks as it keeps them clean and rust free and no unwanted noise

Q7.On plastic material can i use protectant spray to keep the shine and to protect it from fading?
You can use 7cf on any plastic part. It keeps it clean and protects it. Never ever use lustre if ruins the plastic

    1. Clean the drum by using air spray as brake pad dust may have accumulated

    2. Ask mechanic to sand the brake pads.

    3. Apply some greese on springs the hold shocks together
