Default My brand new Suzuki GS150 (2014 model)

Bought this bike yesterday and Alhamdulillah its just what I wanted.Very comfortable and smooth ride.
    Fuel mileage:38kmpl
As soon as petrol finished in tank I added 1 litre of petrol and reset trip meter to 0.on continuous jerks recorded the reading. Did this procedure twice and got 38kmpl on first and 36 on second.
Driving speed was mainly below 40 and max was 60.
    Custom made muffler:

Suzuki GS 150 users please shed some information.
Need to know that does Suzuki GS 150 require any running period during the first 1k km. My cousin told me that when he bought GS the mechanic at Suzuki told him that no running is required and jitna speed lagane hai lagao. Should I keep driving at low pace till 1k km ya mandna shuru kar do???
    Waiting for your opinions .

If u start listening to these jaahil mechanics, then consider yourselves doomed. I was told too by them that no running was required, and when i asked the reason, he said "itna bara engine he, iss ko running ki koi zarurat nahi. Iss ko bas road pe le k bhagao, jo marzi karo"
And i was like WTH..... Didnt argue with him back then coz I was too excited just to sit on that beast...... But by their logic, it means that trucks n trolleys should not need break-in at all

For the layman, the proof lies in the fact that there is so much initial wear n tear, that the first oil change that we do at 300km (sometimes 500) comes out real dark.... Would u still rev your bike at higher rpms during this period?

Lastly, there are different ways to break-in, and theres a separate thread to discuss that too, but no one has ever said that its not necessary

Yar the bottom line is that the engineers who have designed the engine are not stupid and illiterate
Agar wo ap ko manual may bta rhay hay k first 1000 ya 1200Km tak bike ko braek in karna hay to man lo na yar
Do you seriously think that these jahil mechanics jin ko enineering ka aik lafaz tak nai ata kia wo engine ko un engineers say behtar jantay hay jinho nay engine ko bnaya hay
Mairi is baat ko apnay cousin ko batao
Layman k liay is say behtar or koi explanation nai hay

So I calculated my bike's fuel economy and here are the results.

I filled the tank of 800rs petrol.
1 litre costs 113 rs. This means 800/113=7.07 litres came in the tank.

The reading on the odometer was exactly 166.6 km when the petrol finished in the reserve tank .
    So 166.6km/7.07 litres=23.6 km/l.

Defitinely get it checked after the 300km mark. The mixture must be too rich
