Default Suzuki GS150 : Black Swan

    Asalam O Alikum PW Members.

After the quest of finding a bike for personal use, over a month spent in constant questions, I purchased a Suzuki GS150 today. Bike is Alhumdulliah good in running. Had a few minor queries for which mechanic is not available at the moment. Invoice price was 114500/- but I got it in 115000/- PKR from Suzuki Mangla Motors.

Looking forward to the ride and a prayer to Almighty Allah for a safe and present experience. Ameen.

@bilalayub919! Brother, which brand of rims does Suzuki use on GS150 as stock? AFAIK, SOMO rims are the worse quality rims (after cheap local ones), and at Rs.2400, you purchased it very expensive. The 1.6x17 (rear CG125) SOMO rim barely costs Rs.800. How can this cost 3x more money? (I am sorry i am not aware of the price difference between different sized rims as i never inquired about it from the market).

Also, buying better quality rims is just HALF the story. Find a person who can align your new rims 100% perfect. If you are in Lahore, there is a famous guy in McLeod Road who can do that. I can't remember his name, but if you require, i'll ask tomorrow from my own wheel balancing guy (who knows of his work).

Changing just the rear rim won't do. You will have to change BOTH of them. Also check the tyre pressure, and inflate tyres exactly how your owner manual (or rear chain cover) mentions.

Lastly, PBC (Pakistan Bikers Club) said that new GS150s are coming with unaligned frames. If all else fails, Please contact PBC to see if your bike really suffer from that problem.

Same rim is in Deluxe Honda and costs about 1200 from Honda dealers but I got this rim from my home town where it was not available. Khair, what was done is done. I am in Mirpur so can't go to Lahore. I was refered to a person in Rawalpindi for which I will try.

GS is really a beautiful machine but 'Dil Toot Gaya'.

Get Araya rims. Dont get SOMO. Stock Suzuki rims are of 'SUPER' brand, seem to be working fine for me (i go through a lot of khaddas). ive made my mind to get them aligned every 1000 KMs

I am actually despising the fact that most freakin Indians get to pick awesome bikes for same value of money than us, just because our economist are corrupt and our entrepreneurs are drug lords

After a few events of malfunctions, show of serious unreliability, Poor parts and build quality, worst service network, unskilled mechanics. Main Issues were Front beam, meter lights, button units on handles, horn, fuel knob, ignition coil, brake pads, handle assembly, silencer chrome, foot rests and God Know what more. Everything has a fault or develops a fault after a while. Its like a white elephant. I am not sure about older models but 2014 is worse till now. I gave away my GS150 4 days ago replacing it with Honda CG125 Classic 2013. I thank everyone for being there and supporting me and every member of this forum. This was the reason I was away.
