Default My Experience with Valvoline Champ 4T in Suzuki GS150

AOA fellows couple of days earlier i did first change of oil in my recently purchased GS150.
and for the first time i use any 4T oil in any of my motor cycle.
valvoline is not a new brand for me i have used it in past valvoline xld 20w50 api sg/cd in my car, genset, motorcycles , and never had any complain from this oil , in fact was very much pleased with its performance but it was out of market for several months and for that reason i shifted to mobil special. now its back in market and importer has informed me that this time they got bulk quantity of it so no worries

so this time i got Valvoline Champ 4T 20W50 API SG, JASO MA2 for my Motor cycle.

my experience has been very very good till now rode 200 hundred km on new oil :

    1) engine noise has been reduced to minimum,
    2) gear shifting have become extremely soft
    3) no heating issue what so ever, bike is not feeling hot even after 25 km non stop ride to pma in afternoon
    4) more responsive engine and certainly no feeling of any type of drag in engine.

read some where over internet that riders have stretched this oil upto 2.5k km on their rides without any problem,
but for me 1.5k km is quite good for this oil.

    now the price factor.

paid 300 rupees for 0.7ltr can, 3 can for rupees 900 can do good 2 oil change with the intervals of 1.5k km on gs150 hopefully without any problem. ( have run bike on valvoline xld for 1.5k with ease) .

i am so impressed by the performance of the oil that i went and bought yesterday 5 more cans to keep in stock.

will be replacing soon the red gs150 oil with this 1 for my nephew to enjoy the ride more better.

here are few pictures of the can i took today morning.

    take care and kind regards.

update on oci of Valvoline 4t Champ ,

its has been practically checked that Valvoline can easily be use upto 1.5k km and changed above 1.5k km without any problem. recent oil changes in gs150 and cd185 twin has proven that 1k km oci is too less for this fine oil .

So now i'm kinda afraid to use any engine oil which is more than 10w-40(company recommended).Bike is clocked 840km
actually my experience is just the opposite..It is always recommended to use oem oil during break in and follow the recommended viscosity i.e (AHL for ahl bikes, sgo for suzuki).10w40 is not a standard in local motorcycles(most of them but for suzuki it is so it is always better to follow the recommended viscosity). It is unfortunate that your experience wasnt worthwhile..I am sticking to LM only because my engine enjoys this oil..But i would like to try valvo for a change.

AHL recommends 20w40 for all its line up..20w50 is a must for CG 125//and i am sticking to this viscosity atm(on CD-100)

The thing that sets this oil apart from all the locals is that it does not easily shear down. The oil maintains its viscosity even after 2000Kms(though i dont clock that much max 1400)
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

As you now came up with, can you tell me about muffler and crash guard for gs?

    Kindly go through this thread.
For muffler, sound is there on 1st page.
For crash guard you can see the pictures through the thread. Fitting is not an issue. Yes, and it has to be altered a bit but easily by a mechanic.
I think crash guard is a must. In case if you fall at stationary position, your engine and tank are protected also your leg will not be crushed by the the weight of the bike.

brother glad to hear this, now we will be waiting for yr review for valvoline, i am sure u will be surprised with the performance of this oil.
don't wanna say much otherwise i will be declared promoter of valvoline on pw instead of user

price is fine 480 rupees a litre, in karachi it is around 450 so its not a big difference, i got it cheap as the dealer know me for long time so i have special discount on variety of oils i buy.

    take care and kind regards

I think six 4t is best for new GS 150. I just changed my forst oil at 345 km with it, as the owner manual also recommend for 10/40. So this is the best choice in market with good brand after zic A.

First of all brother zic A is not meant for using in bike as it is meant for car engines
Secondly 10W-40 is recomended grade in manual but the summers in Pakistan are very hot so 20W-50 is the best choice in summers and 10W-40(Zic-4T) in winters as it really helps during cold morning self starts and oil flows quickly in engine to protect parts than 20w-50

Me also want to share my experience of vavoline champ 4t,
Here I must want to say tha today I have changed my GS 150 engine oil just after 450 km on zic 4t 10/40 with vavoline champ 4t 20/50. Because of heating issue on zic.
Now I really feel a little bit smooth ride with low engine noise. And now there is no heating problem like on zic,

I was going to tell you to share your experience, coz the two bottles I bought are still lying in my store room. I am barely taking my bike out these days, and im afraid it will be another 2 months before my bike needs an oil change. Till then, you and brother @archon2001 can share their experiences, especially after riding it for 500 km and finally when you drain it out.
with LM, I noticed it was amazing for the first 400-500, but then it wasnt the same after. I always drained it around 1000-1200
Will be curious to know valvoline's overall performance

I would like to share my experience if valvoline champ 4T here. This is the 3rd time I have drained it from suzuki gs150
I have taken this ride to babusar recently, and my oil had already clocked 900 kms, meaning the drain was almost due. Nevertheless, the bike performed its best. Just for precaution, I drained it at babusar top (no pics sorry), and poured in fresh oil
The next day, I rode my bike for 16 hours straight, covering almost 650 kms, at a speed of 80-90km/h with occasional rests all tge way back to lahore. Once back in lahore, I stretched this oil to another 600 kms within city, meaning I dragged this oil for 1200km total. Here are the results

The condition clearly indicates I could've stretched the drain interval for another 100-200 kms, but its better to stay on safe side and stick to drain it between 1000-1200

I would thank brother @archon2001 for helping me decide this oil. I was previously using LM, which is although a good oil, but was giving cold starts, deteriorated oil quality after 500km and too expensive at a price of 800-850 rupees.
Valvoline champ 4T cost is 480, and is available at filter house, montgomery road and other famous oil dealers
