Post Suzuki Pakistan VERSUS Suzuki India

Indian motorcycle market is decades ahead of ours' thanks to the great competition in the Indian motorcycle market. Motorcycling scene in Pakistan is quite pathetic overall. Honda has the major share being the giant present here for quite some time now. Although Suzuki is also present in Pakistan since long but they never targeted to capture the major market. It would not be out of place to say that GS150 is perhaps the only motorbike by Suzuki that sold most during all this time and unfortunately it doesn't have too many satisfied customers (are we going to have another heated debate?)

Coming to the topic, Suzuki India like the general trend, is decades ahead of Suzuki Pakistan. Compare Indian GS150R to that of GS150 in Pakistan. Following pics are enough to tell the difference:

    Indian GS150R:
Suzuki Pakistan VERSUS Suzuki India -1480898

    Pakistan's GS150:
Suzuki Pakistan VERSUS Suzuki India -1480899

It has been quite some time since GS150 was launched in Pakistan, prices kept on increasing with time while the bike only received some cosmetic changes and I would dare say, hardly any improvement.

Coming back to the Indian market, they have replaced the 150R with a bike that has stirred the already rich Indian bike market. 150R has been replaced by the stunning GSXR155:

    • Gixxer carries a 155cc 4 stroke air-cooled SOHC carburetted engine.
    • It gets rear monoshock absorbers and disc brakes at the front and regular drums at the rear.
    • And the rear tyre is an FZ-rivalling 140/60 17 incher. Front rubber is the regular 100/80 17 inch.
    • Gixxer carries an all-digital instrument cluster.
GSXR155 has literally challenged the Yamaha's FZ market in India while here in Pakistan Suzuki brought Inazuma, without realizing that its not a bike for the Pakistani market. Feast your eyes with the beautiful GSXR155 and lets wait for the cosmetic changes in our 150 for 2015. Silence..

Some time ago, I started a thread Crusade against Stagnation. I still hold firm to my views written therein. I hope Yamaha does not disappoint us next year, we've been waiting too long for the positive change.

They are right to some extent. Why would any company think for user's sake if the user himself is sleeping?

    Honestly there is no comparison.

Paksuzki is producing and selling obsolete cars phased out years in all other countries in the world. (all of their lineup is obsolete including Ravi, Bolan, Mehran, Liana, Cultus and even the Swift )..Bikes are no different as well

Unforunately, our incompetent government does not know how to manage anything and has given these assemblers a free hand and their is no real check on car safety as well. That is why Paksuzuki is able to sell unsafe crap legally.

Our government is not incompetent. They are very COMPETENT in what they do !! They are competent in looting this country. And they will continue to loot this country until we all take a stand collectively.

Suzuki is not to be blamed here. Are Japanese relatives of the Indians that they are giving such models to them and not to us? The answer is NO. We are not a business friendly country and this is the reason.

IMO Bike users are equally responsible for this pathetic condition. Here people don't take biking seriously. All they care about is sound and millage. They never bother to try something new. Why company would invest on something new when our buyers are more than satisfied with 70 for its millage and cg for its power.

Pakistan is the 6th largest country in world Population wise. Are we the sixth favorite country on Suzuki's list? Population is not the reason brother. Its the way we govern our "beloved" Pakistan. Beloved in inverted commas because if we really love Pakistan we wont be harming it like this.

Go to suzuki.ch A country of 80 lac people, Switzerland. A Population less than of Lahore. See the suzuki variants there.

May Allah have his Mercy on Pakistan and guide us all. Ameen

Good thread. Bro our people don't want change they don't need most advance/good looking bikes. But you should appreciate Suzuki here that atleast they have introduced latest models (latest in view of Paki market) GD110, GS150, Sprinter & Raider in our market. People have started to buying these bikes even their prices are on higher side n now we see these bikes on roads. Today their quality/ratio on roads is low as compare to our old tech Chonda's /Atlas models , but i hope this +ive trend will be continued. Inshallah.

Yeah government ka toh koi haal nahi, I dont want to drag politics but simply speaking Gullu Butt's behavior pretty much describes our government. I am not saying Suzuki are relatives of India or anything. These assemblers are profit making private companies belonging to Japan they are of course going to look after their own interests, of course they will take advantage of absence of regulations here. The Indian government has much better regulations and their market is competitive.

The auto assemblers lobbyists (PAMA, etc) have high level connection in inner circles of the government - parliamentarians, etc. They do their best to convince the government not to implement automotive safety and regulatory laws and they have gone to the extent that they even lobbied against a proposal to get special incentives to new assemblers and stopped its implementation. Restricting imports might have some logic (protecting local jobs etc) but restricting the entry of new assemblers is simply mafia-type pressure.
