Default My New Suzuki GS-150. Break in tips please.

By the grace of Almighty, today I have purchased myself a brand new Suzuki GS-150 motorcycle.
To meet my short commuting needs,I had an inclination towards GD-110 but I found it better in comparison because of its retro looks and more powerful engine.
I drove it 40 kilometers today, below 40kmph. I need suggestions on how to break-in the engine perfectly for longevity and better performance on all speeds.

    regards
    Qasim.

Finally I met someone with same issues as mine. Well brother i reduced the clutch free play to 4-5 mm, and I make it sure that I grasp the clutch lever completely and then shift, furthermore I also observe rpm and shift the gear when it not to early as well as not too late.

I hope oil change also affects the clutch performance, so lets hope an improvement after the oil change. after 300 kilometers, I'll pour zic 10w-40, and after 1000 kilometers, I'll go for liquimoly 10w-40 subject to availability, 20w-50 other wise.

No idea how much it costs for the insurance.

@ammarzahid, although i agree with the recommendation to use such oil for winter that are less viscous at ambient temprature, I have a question. According to Owners manual, the minimum temprature given against viscosity is

    -20? C : 10w-.......
    -10? C : 20w-.......

while in Pakistan where most of areas barely touch 0? C, that too in extreme winters, we still have a margin of 10? C to use 20w-50 round the year. Still many people prefer and recommend to use 10w-...... oils (5w & even 0w oils for cars) during winter season. Is the practice worth following ?

P.S. this thing is not asked in particular reffence with GS-150 because the manufacturer's recomendation is 10w-40.

(i tried to add degree centigrade symbol but it unfortunately appears as ? )

Im using 15-40 which should be perfect for year-round use. But for winters i will switch to 10-40 semi or fully synthetic. I would say shell ax5 is the best bet for you. Its 15w40. 20-50 is not recommended for new engines anyway and in winters you can imagine it wont be suitable for the new engine at all. Zic genuine will do fine

Always use zic 4T brand of oils for your bike as zic oils have many qualities VS any others oils changing your bike engine oil with zic your bike,s engine becomes so smooth & zic oil have another a decent quality that it always clean your engine & never deposit a bit of carbon in your engine at the time zic oils are the best & available in reasonable prices & always drain your engine oil maximum at 1K. i have used many engine oils in my gs like SGO Petromin etc. but i found it the best zic 4T semi synthetic grey color box.changing with it i felt a lot of change in my bike.i never ever heard my GS engine sound like this i can,t describe it in words.i also pour zic 10w40 black color box in gs.but changing with it i hear too many noises from engine & also engine heating problem faced by me

I have been away for around 2 weeks and the GS was covered and parked.

Today I went for first oil change with 460 kms at odo. I poured Shell AX-5 and also changed the oil filter. The level indicator didn't came upto full mark by 1 liter, so had to pour another 200ml. I also got the spark plug and air filter cleaned.
Engine feels much light now, more responsive & smooth drive and sound has also improved. The missing thing is also gone :-)
