    Default Suzuki Gs500e (Haroon_1)

    Assalamoaliakum to all my fellows,

This is my first bike, not first but before this i never owned anything other than a cg125.

This is a Suzuki Gs500e 2004 model, 2011 motorway auction and Islamabad registered.

The bike is in pretty nice condition body wise no rust etc. Body was repainted in black, frame was also repainted as far as in my sight.

The engine was in genuine condition till yesterday, when i bought the crank was knocking, i decided to get it overhauled in extreme cold weather but after that i realized that it will somehow damage the crank.

If now the work will be done by just 0.25 main beggins it may increase to 0.50. So gave it to mechanic by morning.

The work to be done are as follows:

    Crank overhaul
    rings
    valves
    guides
    clutch plates

one shock seal was leaking it will be replaced also

After a lot of search i found ustad bashir in pindi a good guy, planned to send it to pindi, he gave me estimate of 50k for this work.

Then after discussion with my few friends i decided to give to Haji noor Muhammad, A well know specialist of suzuki in Lahore, He finalized this work in 35k

Now the bike is under major surgeries, hope it will be fine InshAllah.

Here are the pics for u guys, will update the engine work step by step InshAllah.

    JazakAllah

valvoline is a good oil and is in use by @dr,omair he introduced it to us.. its known to hand heat issue nicely even in summer and stays viscous for longer period.

Tappet noise will be reduced after tuning but keep in mind it will never go away completely specially on ambient temprature, its some thnig common with these bike.

185kmh is no joke for street bike stay safe always do sprints in secure or controlled environments, even a small cat on rad can cause a catastrophe...

don't use hi octane in your bike hi octane is for those bike which have compression ratio of 10 or higher if you use hi octane in your bike it will result in carbon on vavle and that not good for your engine life rest is your choic

yeah bro, you are right. I am a very humble driver on road. never exceeded the speed limits on any road. That was just a check and that too on phase 8 broad way and that time dere was nothing on road, and will never do such again cz i m not a speeding freak at all

Finally i got it serviced yesterday at 500km, haji sahab insulted me a lot that tenu awaz ki kehndi aa, aandi aa tay aan dyo.

I m feeling that bike is little less aggressive than earlier. but i hope it will become smooth after few hundred kilometers.

Now its extremely soundless as a cd 70 motorcycle.

    Waaliaakumusalam,
This is a Spanish model, one of the 11 auctioned by motorway in 2011. you will find a coouple of them but they are japanese models. Np difference though except tail and tank.

Best option is buy and restore one, you will end up your project near 300k. Then that will be an awesome bike InshAllah

Hajji insult nahi kerta WO Baat he Zara arrogant tareekay say kerta hay... Remember my formula of keeping another "choota hajji" in loop will help

Also the Japanese model was we'll noted for it better build quality and more horse power (52bhp) where as Spanish assembly line produced a detuned (48bhp) version (but way more beautiful) bike....

The new Spanish had better power band and low to mid range power also it was less prone to over heating and had even better milage.

An engine overhaul will not take him more than a week if parts are locally available but for full restoration Haji can take a lot more then just one month. My last project took 5 long months to complete where two months were consumer by the painter alone. Restoring a bike to perfection is hell of a job, Monoo can tell you that, but in the end the final product is worth all that wait.
