    Default Suzuki GS125 & GS150 New Model

    Asalam-o-Alaykum,

    Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

    1. Crystal headlight.
    2. Changed backlight.
    3. Changed feul tank design.
    4. Revised CDI archetecture.

I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

    Default GS 150 Modifications

Can any one will help[ me out that what all kind of modifications, in the body specially, could be done. If any one has done so then pl upload the pics for refference. I checked it up from Mr Safeer of Suzuki showroom in Kamait Chowk Rwp in this regard and he said that it will cost nearly 18k to change its body with Ravi Piaggio's body and they have done it with five bikes in Rawalpindi. Is it worth doing? else what are the possible drawbacks of doing so? Your experties and valuable comments are solicited pl.

I've had a GS 125 since January 2007. The bike is amazing but the electrical system is "manhoos". It can fail any time. The wiring is even worse than third class. If they add quality wiring and electrical system, it is an amazing bike.

i am in islamabad and travels daily 50km on my Hero FR 70 on Kashmir highway and and i gives me a very bad fuel consumption i.e. 40km/liter
    TOO bad
therefore i am planaing to shift to a heavier bike coz i travel at full acceleration my bike touches 110 mark on the speedometer.
can anybody tell me what exact fuel economy will GS 150 give me if i keep traveling at the speeds of 115+?

    Default Allignment Issues.

    Hey Folks.
Its been 3 months now that i have had my GS-150. Im facing sum issues with it. Firstly the bike is falling onto one side (i.e. Right hand side) wen i leave the handle. I havnt banged the bike anywhere as yet.. its completely untouched.
Secondly, I feel that it has an unusually loud engine noise, is that normal or is it sumthing to be worried about.

Thirdly, the clutch seems a bit too rough, it makes a "KHAT" noise noise, n i am getting worried about these issues..
    Any suggestions?

Dont scare me dude! I just bought mine today! paid by cheque (83k with registration) so its gonna arrive on wednesday (28th April 2010).
I really really hope that they havent compromised on quality.

Visited the Yamaha and Honda showrooms. Yamaha's look like crap (rough welding is one of the things i noticed, among bad styling). Honda's got a reputation, but why the hell does the CG 125 cost 1 lakh? we all know theyre quite reliable as per the reviews of the CG 125 from abroad... but i would not comment on the pakistani assemblies cuz i know nothing about that.

Just hoping the GS lives up to its reputation.

I'm getting a 6month/6000 km warranty!! wth!! i saw some of the posts and like 4 years back it was like a 24,000km warranty or something? that sounds impossible in today's world!

Anybody know what the current warranty status is? i just wanna confirm.

URGENT: Also, can anyone please advise me on which oil to use on this 2009 GS 150? and which petrol? someone mentioned Shell sucks and Caltex rocks? :s

Its the same model since 2008, they are still using the same engine. Some body parts were removed or changed in these models to reduce the price. Engine quality is the same and the ride is just as comfortable.

I have replied in the other thread, but just want to add that when you change the brand of oil, change the oil filter as well.

Oh, ok! thats good! all i was worried about is the drive train.

thanks! i shall keep that in mind. Don't know what oil they've already put in my bike before delivery. I shall ask.

When we talk about Power and Style, from where does the Mileage and Economy jump in? C'mon man.. you want economy.. go stick with 70cc crap. You need Power?? Sure?? why do you give a damn to 30KM/Ltr or 40Km/Ltr? Offcourse a heavier bike has a heavier engine which consumes more fuel.. quite obvious.. ain't it?

its just like you to a Mercedes showroom and ask 'em if it supports CNG or not!! damn..

    Default SUZUKI GS150 new purchase

I have just purchased a new GS150 .I wanna know about the oil change intervals after 1000kms I.e after completing running. As this bike has an oil filter I wanna know about the oil changing interval.
Normally in an OHV engine like of CG125 we change oil after 1000kms. What is the oil change interval in an OHC engine as of Suzuki. Also OHC engine gets less heated up as compared to an OHV engine.
    Please suggest

    @papubhai
The oil filter can filter out some foreign particles (metals etc.), meaning it keeps the oil clean, but it can do nothing about the viscosity and other features of the oil.

In Honda 110, I used to change the oil at 1000 kms. in Lahore and at 800kms. in Islamabad, because of rides to Pir Suhawa and Murree/Galiat. In my GS150, I use Caltex Havoline (Black bottle), and change it at 1000kms. If I go to Thandiani after 800kms. of oil change it shows signs of heating up a bit early, after 900kms. the performance also starts to deteriorate, for normal road rides it doesn't matter even after 1100kms. For Lahore, using any normal oil, the interval can be 1200kms. but you will have to be careful after 1000kms. I'm not sure how big a role does the Lahore fine dust play, but it could also be a factor.

If you use a better fully synthetic multi-grade oil (JASO-MA certified), the oil change interval should be significantly higher and it may cost you the same for per 1000kms. of use. (Meaning, suppose the oil you use is Rs.330/Litre and you change it at 1000kms. and when you use a synthetic oil costing Rs.1000/Litre and you change it after 3000kms. the per 1000kms. cost is Rs.333.) In reality it wouldn't be as simple and you will have to decide if the extra cost is worth the extra protection. Sometimes it just makes more financial sense if you use a normal local oil and change it early for extra protection.
