    Default Suzuki GS125 & GS150 New Model

    Asalam-o-Alaykum,

    Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

    1. Crystal headlight.
    2. Changed backlight.
    3. Changed feul tank design.
    4. Revised CDI archetecture.

    I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

    I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

    So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

    GS150 has a small glass window on the right side of engine, you can check the oil level and colour through it. To check the quantity you have to read the manual and derive your own level mark after checking from that.

    Whatever oil you use, buy it from a reputed fuel station (or main dealer/distributor, if it is not available at fuel stations). I think the problems about Zic maybe because of bad dealers, I have never used Zic myself. But in Abbottabad, almost every Suzuki Bolan and Ravi user uses Zic in the winter. Nobody uses petrol and the thinnest Zic makes cold start easier at around freezing temperature, with CNG. I haven't heard many complaints from them and almost all were about not buying from their regular dealer.

    Generally, fully synthetic oils are thinner at normal temperature, semi-synthetic are medium and mineral oils are thick, they all perform within the specified range (10w40 or 20w50, etc.), some prove better for one and the other proves better for the other person/bike/car.

    I chose Havoline because it is available all across the country at Caltex stations and my previous experience with Havoline Formula3 was excellent. Shell and Castrol also have the same advantage. If you don't travel extensively then it doesn't really matter.

    Synthetic oil doesn't suit bikes in normal cases as in bikes there is no separate transmission oil so when you use synthetic oils your clutch wears quickly. So in standard bikes the only good option is to use a good quality mineral oil like Castrol active 4t or Havoline or shell Advansport

    In cars go for the best possible synthetic oil.I personally like Castrol due to the reason that it has lesser sale ratio as compared to shell and Caltex ...so chances of being fake are relatively lower

    About oil condition verification ..i still would blame Suzuki as adding a dipstick really wont hurt the company's financial structure:p

    Its really hard to use your eyes to judge the condition according to color as color indicates nothing in case of oils.. ans specifically in an OHC engine..where oil loses color early but remain good for quite a long time

    @asad01

    bro i agree that ZIC can be badly reputed by dealers but lemme clarify!1 in winters you ca use ZIC but in summers ZIC is a suicide for an engine..it leaks seal..it make the engine temperature high..etc..

    ZIC is not known in the world for quality as if you compare ZIC with Mobil or LiquiMoli..or any other international brand synthetic oil..you will see the standard of ZIC by yourself..and using it in Bike ...that's would disastrous.. as my ravi storm seals got leaked in just 2 weeks after purchasing bike and using ZIC 4T

    neither zic nor castrol can be trusted, as i used castrol and oil level dropped after four days only in a new engine and it came like a water from the engine, only best is Caltex Havoline from the petrol pump only, never buy it frm anyother shop as its 2no else where

    Thats not correct, a synthetic oil with API SG or JASO MA certification WILL work better than a mineral oil of the same specification in a motorbike. (If it is original, that is.)

    Any oil beyond API SG (SJ, SL or SM) can make the clutch SLIP in a bike, not wear it out, whether synthetic or mineral. These oils are more slippery, synthetic ones are made that way and mineral oils have added friction modifiers to make it slippery. Cars have dry clutches, bikes have wet clutches, submerged in oil.

    Only synthetic oils have multiple ratings like SG/MA, SL and CF simultaneously, for using in bikes, cars (petrol) and diesel engines. I don't use synthetic oils only because these are not readily available everywhere.

    why to take risk , i also brought it from a very famous oil shop,
    the problem is that PSO was importing it a while ago, but they have stopped it, U may be right abt ur genioune as others people advised me, but Caltex Havoline has also proven itself over the years

    PSO stopped importing castrol 3 years ago!!!..

    Jaso MA certified symthetics are very rare !!atleast the only i knw is liqui moli..as no single oil in the world 10w/40 is 100% synthetic .ZIC is base 3 synthetic and is the most 3rd class in quality..better use havoline shell or castrol!!!!
