    Default Suzuki GS125 & GS150 New Model

    Asalam-o-Alaykum,

    Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

    1. Crystal headlight.
    2. Changed backlight.
    3. Changed feul tank design.
    4. Revised CDI archetecture.

    I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

    I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

    So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

    congrats on ur purchase
    i ve used GS in the past and owns Piaggio now ,
    both are good but gs is more a cruiser type than a street bike
    interesting thing is piaggio is almost 25 cc less than gs but u never feel ur riding a low powered bike after using gs
    the thing u will miss the most is the control which gs lacks and piaggio has(i mean disc brake)
    where as gs has more silent engine due to ohc design
    Piaggio has edge in top speed as far my experience goes

    DAMN bro you mean to say that the bike has potential and I may get creamed after all despite the 25CC advantage

    now thats scary info!

    and my cousins bike is ready and comes with 10 month or 1 year waranty else 10,000 Km I guess. beter than what I'll have on my GS 150 when I get it.
    Sportier that bike is n trues GS is more of a Comuting Cruiser type.

    well Lets see !

    Wa'alaikum-as-Salaam.

    I also had been using Chinese 70 cc bikes. Recently, I have switched to Honda 100. It is a superb bike. It gives me:

    Comfort:
    The seat design keeps one relaxed even on long journeys. The road grip is very good.

    Power & pick:
    The engine picks up good. It easily maintains any speed regardless of load on it. The engine remains fairly smooth even at top speed.

    Speed:
    90 - 100 km/h is no problem for it with or without a passenger. If you want more speed, Honda 100 is not for you.

    Mileage:
    With all the above traits, it gives me a good ~55 km/liter average.

    You mentioned you have to travel a lot (~80km daily), pick up this bike. It won't let you down.

    Cons:
    1- Honda needs to work on the gear box of this model. Gear transition is not smooth in Honda 100. The gear slides well, but it sounds like as if clutch wasn't properly pressed. One has to be really attentive while shifting gears to avoid that gear changing sound. However, this does not harm the gear box.

    2- Headlight design needs improvement. It looks good, but the beam spreads out a lot and does not form a dot on the road. It gives poor visibility on dimly lit or absolutely dark roads. The beam concentration is very low. Honda should work on this issue so that beam spreading is reduced.

    If you want to know more about this bike and my experience with it, do drop me a message. I'll be glad to share all I know about it.

    Good luck!

    @All others:
    Please excuse me for brining in Honda 100 in this thread. But I had to suggest something good to the brother who's thinking of buying a new bike.
    First deserve, then desire.

    Agreed this is not a pakistani model.
    and personally I dont think such modification will give you any comfort thow it may be helpfull if one is excessively oversized or used for loading heavy weights.

    Dear All,

    I talked to Askari people regarding Mobil 1 Racing 4T and it is avaiable in Pakistan. The difference between MC oil and Car oil is additivies. I Purchased ZIC JASO MA API SG certified, but i have doubts regarding this oil as i think it would not be worth putting in my Bike. Problem with Mobil 1 Racing 4T is that it is too expensive. I tried to buy it and the price was 1,500 Rs for 1 ltr bottle. I again talked to Askari people and they told me that they sell it to shopkeepers at 11,00 Rs. So i think you would be able to get Mobil 1 Racing 4T @ 1,150 to 1,200 Rs. I am going to try this and will update you regarding the same and its results. I hope it can easily run upto 3000Km in pakistani conditions. Synthetic oils (if proper synthetic not the one from Group III base oil) can withstand higher and lower temperatures.

    Its really hard to use your eyes to judge the condition according to color as color indicates nothing in case of oils.. ans specifically in an OHC engine..where oil loses color early but remain good for quite a long time
    @papubhai

    I do agree that Suzuki should have introduced dip stick to check the oil but unfortunately its not the case.

    I just want to add a comment here that if an oil does not change its color at oil change then there is some thing wrong with the oil. Oil is supposed to change its color and changed color shows that oil has taken the hit and has done its job of cleaning the engine. Oil is not only for lubricating it should also clean the engine from impurities to protect your bike or car.

    I had a Kawasaki trail bike KE175 then a Suzuki 2 stroke A100X then had a honda CG125 and last was Suzuki GS150.
    and now I have this Ravi PIAGGIO storm 125.

    The best bike in my experiance from all these was the Suzuki A 100 X .
