    Default Suzuki GS125 & GS150 New Model

    Asalam-o-Alaykum,

    Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

    1. Crystal headlight.
    2. Changed backlight.
    3. Changed feul tank design.
    4. Revised CDI archetecture.

I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

    @junaidken

If you want disk brakes in CGS150, you might need to change the forks too, but a mechanic might give proper advice. As far as modification is concerned, I have seen CG125s and CD 70s with complete fairings and windshild, plus sports bike like exhaust. I hope GS might be possibly modified as well.

just to let some brothers know about the average of new 150 model, i m amazed... and brother fossa told me that it had BFI butterfly fuel injection system.. so i went to the suzuki showroom to confirm it.. and the engeneer said that it is true.. the new 150 and 110 models have BFI system and he told me the new averate of GS150 is 50 km/liter. He also told me to never ever let a mechanic open it when ur getting it tuned... he told me that we have instructions from japan as to this new carborator technology not to open it and if there is a need to clean it just change the air filter.. that is it.. and never every open the carborator.. as some mechanics out of curiosity will open to try to know the cause of this good average... i m yet to confirm the 110 average.. but confirmed the GS150 average myself. i m running my bike at that average.. and people who bought the new model will soon inshallah confirm.

Help, someone has nicked the plastic side covers on my black 150. Anyone have spares out there? The shop is out of stock, so I will be happy to settle for used pieces, any colour (but black preferred)

I just booked my GS 150 yesterday. Hopefully will have it by Monday the 17th Dec. Heck Yeah!

Any advice on what I should expect with the new bike?
    - should it have side mirrors?
    - what things should I check for before signing the receipt? (I have never owned a bike before and dunno what I should be checking for before getting a new bike)
    - what else comes included with the GS 150?
    - any servicing and operation suggestions? (change oil every 6 months etc..)

Small engines of Motorbikes make any good oil feel like water at 1000 kms, so keep changing your bikes engine oil at under 1000 kms, use any Caltex original one.

    Buddy

U should kept in mind before sign the recipt

    1. Check your bike nut bolt throughly
    2. must check both the tyre by moving them while bike is on big stand
    3. check all electric thing like horn, headlight, indicatore
    4. try to choose ur bike from lot as sales man insist for particular bike but u should choose by checking 2or 3 bikes

after purchasing run ur bike at 40-45km/h for the first 500 km then change ur engine oil

Any further query i am ready to guide u

Thank you Shahg for those tips. I will definitely be checking all of those. Hopefully the guy will let me take a test ride on the bike before I sign off the receipt.

(however as far as choosing the bike goes, there was only one display model over at the frere rd showroom, and the one I ordered will be the second one... so wont have much of a choice there I guess)

    Cheers!

    AOA,

Congratulations to all the gs-150 owners.
I am also planning to buy this beauty.

last mail on this topic was on 20th december. Now what average are u ppl getting after five months.
shahg, swerveut, Shehzie, romano all have gs-150 so please help me regarding its mileage.

Please tell at what speed you get that mileage, as 45 km/ litre at speed of 45 is not good and it doesnt look nice if u drive a 150 at less than 60/80.
What z its inte rcity average in 1st to 3rd gear. its average at max speed etc.

    Thanks

my five months are over .. and since then i had only oil changes and two times free tuning from the suzuki guys, and no tuning for 3 months now, but its running beautifully.. and though as i calculate the milage of the bike it stuns me all the time... it seems that it is getting better and better by the day.. like i used to fill up 500rs worth of petrol and goes to office 5 times a day for 45-50 km ride... and it easily gets me 10-11 days before i get the reserve.. (this does not include the distance that i use to travel here and there except office..).. so i can say its giving 45-46+ on a liter...
Considering the speed, the roads here in karachi are better now but no space to gallop as there is so much trafic, but in early morning i pushed this beast till 110 on straight road from awami markaz to baloch colony flyover.. and this is a routine for me everyday if i leave home early in morning..
the bike has diffrent levels... like if u pick up slowly, ur 3rd gear will end at 40km/h, 4th at 60km/h, and 5th max to 80km/h, but when u push the bike.. like pick up giving full 80% accelerator it reaches 60 in 3rd 80 in 4th and dont know till when the 5th gear will take u.. (i m scared when picking the bike in this manner so dont go above 100-110). Remarkable piece of machinery.. as u have noticed my story before i m soooooo much glad that i bought this bike. after five months and my rough riding.. its stil in mint condition, with not even a speck of rust... just an advice, do balance your wheels within the first 200 miles or if u get a fat tyre.. and first finish ur running and then get a fat tire so to put less pressure on engine while in running period and dont go over 40 during running.. that is my advice.

    Dear Shehzie

Its been goo to heard from u after along time appreiate ur effort

I am too happy after having this 150 it really an excellent pleasure while riding it. I got an average of 40 Km may be beacuse i used to travel it from Tower till numaish in almost 2nd & 3rd gear on daily basis but iam sure that if i'll ride it on highway lets suppose from KHi to HYd it will give 50plus avverage

Futher 3 person can easily sit on it of abt 70 kg. I also alonwith my wife and two kids travel in almost every part of the city wits ease and comfort

I laso had 2 free tuning in 4 months and using Caltex havolline oil with a fat tyre of DSI 100-90-18

    An excellent product of suzuki

change its tyre to its origional size, if you want to get a good average, Bigger is the size of a tyre less goes the average. And it also affects the engine if you are riding it with the load of full family.

(This doesnt mean that by getting a tyre of a 70 CC you will get the average of 70 CC engine)
    (i love pakistan)
