    Default Suzuki GS125 & GS150 New Model

    Asalam-o-Alaykum,

    Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

    1. Crystal headlight.
    2. Changed backlight.
    3. Changed feul tank design.
    4. Revised CDI archetecture.

    I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

    I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

    So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

    bos i rode CG125 model 1985 japan assembled, CG125 model 1996, Yamaha DT175, CD70 and now GS 150.

    In all these bikes first one to get heated was yamaha DT175, second it was CG 125 which after a few sprints if it is a hot weather wont be as responsive when it was in cold. Finally, GS150 has a limit of being hot, as i go for about 35km almost to my office on a signal free road with average speed of 65-70 km/hr and at the end of these 35km i give it a sprint to 110 km/h and there is no change in response.. it gets heated but not that much or unusual.

    i think the RAVI-PIAGGIO STORM-125 is going to take the pakistani market as european technology is the best.

    the Suzuki GS150 is not a good bike there to many issues with the engine it overheats you have to wait for weeks before you can get it checked or repaired by suzuki service centres because they say there to busy.

    im selling mine and going in for the RAVI-PIAGGIO STORM-125 im 100 % sure that it will be a hit in pakistan.

    @warren95pk

    I do not think GS150 is a bad bike at all. I am going to buy it soon. Though I will wait now and see for Ravi-Piaggio to show up and prove its worth, then I may decide otherwise.

    My Sep 2005 150 has done 28000km so far. Engine still as new, and the battery still powers the electric starter, though I have a feeling its about to die any day now. The seat is giving problems, can seem to bolt it down strongly enough. Looks like a design defect as it slides from side to side a little. Any ideas how to fix it?
    Am on my fourth speedometer cable so far. Lousy quality.
    The imported 150 in the picture is great. Why do we always end up with watered down, stripped el-cheapo copies? :-(

    Shehzie in response to your Indian GS150 gallery post. Bhai in Pakistan's auto industry the philosophy is to litrally 'ghaseetofy' a production model till the parent company discontinues parts or there is a new dog in town. Best example is the CG125 deluxe and GS150. Honda got the CG125 Deluxe out against the GS150. GS150 was meant to breach the 125cc market. Simple. We need a new dog... a bigger one. A Chinese one perhaps?

    Romano. You may be missing some rubber spacers under the seat. Drill a couple of hole in the plastic extrusions and run a 'tier' thru the holes, round to the top, place the rubber and tie it down. It should last for 3-4 months. Bad construction by suzuki or the rubber quality... but it falls off quite quick.

    I got a 12v - 7amp sealed battery for Rs800. The ones they use in emergency tubelights/ups etc. Soldered a couple of connectors n slapped it on. It works like a charm. No acid spillage or water level checks/maintenance, body corrosion etc.

    Another prob to point out. The center stand cussion rubber which is under the silencer. Mine just fell off like the seat rubber. I just chopped off a 1.5" car's hose-pipe cross section, drilled a hole so i could fit a nut n bolt (das number. 10#) and bolted it in to the hole where the rubber grip was. Then i placed another piece of rubber in the cross section. Now i dont get a loud metal bang when the center stand goes up.
    Driving a Manual is far better than Driving an Automatic.. its my experience and any one can deny that!

    Salams to All

    I, after reading posts from this forum (thanx a lot to all those who write their precious reviews) bought a Suzuki Sprinter Standard 110cc for traveling daily from home-office-home (30Km one side). It costed around Rs. 56,000/- including lifetime registration fee. I'm glad, my decision was right. The bike is in first-class condition after 2 years of heavy usage, according to its mileage meter, it has traveled above 30,000 Km so far. One thing to mention, I weigh more than 130Kg and drive mostly at a speed of 70-100+Km/Hr.

    I would be happy to tell you guys, it has NOT shown ANY problem that all other brands do while running at this weight and speed. It never became too hot to drop speed.. brakes working amazingly fine (I've changed brake shoes once a few weeks ago). Road Grip of the bike is perfect, handling perfect, acceleration from 0-65Km/hr is unbeatable. Its really a Sprinter. Last but not least, its fuel economy.. amazingly economic, does 60+Km per Litre of Petrol, I'm running it on Hi-Octane since when I bought it. I live in Lahore, drive it from Shalimar region to Kot Lakhpat Region, those who know or had lived in Lahore might know well how long and rough-and-tough this journey is. NOW.. I trust Suzuki Pak Motors.

    I'm highly interested to buy Suzuki GS150 Motorcycle. Direly need to know its pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses in details. I've got the mechanics' opinions from various Suzuki dealers, the only known issue is, its spare parts are too expensive, but in Sprinter too, I'm using only Genuine parts which cost much higher than low-cost Chinese counterparts. So that should not be an issue. What are other issues? Does it require more frequent maintenance than this Sprinter? Is it not well made? Need your help guys..

    Good choice that ur making, i have mine now run about 14000 km and i had two punctures in the front tyre, as well i had two wheel throughs each after 5000 kms, and have changed the indicators as they frequently get rubbed in traffic and that is about it. and believe me that i even only had 4 tunings in all this time, two were free from suzuki and other two from service center, but when i saw them tune the bike they really did nothing but just basically clean it thorougly, so no tuning after i think 8-9000 km.

    I never have slightest regret on what i bought and i am not marketing or anything, but my friends who have other bikes by looking at me are so very much interested in buying one themselves.

    gud luck.
