Default My Experience of the new Swift

    Hi there,
I'm sure that there are a lot of mixed views about domestic cars here but my experience with the new swift has been amazing. we bought it a few weeks ago and i have been enjoying every second of it.
it has some excellent features and has a comfort level which can definitely be compared to the local saloon cars. its acceleration is amazing and thank god it has ABS too, which works perfectly well.
i'm attaching some pix of the best features of the Swift which i love. enjoy

first of all, the odometer. it has a drivers seat belt warning light which blinks continuously until the driver puts his seatbelt on.

and they can be folded too

theres no keyhole for the boot nor is there any lever which the driver can pull to open it. instead the boot handle has a button which can be pressed to open it. and it can be opened only when the doors r unlocked, even if the car is on

My Experience of the new Swift -1018613

there are 4 speakers, all of them are in the doors. the sound quality is very good. And they have a good bass.
My Experience of the new Swift -1018614

rear legroom is ample and 4 people can sit very comfortably
My Experience of the new Swift -1018615

the clock, which has a weird "fake" immobilizer light which blinks when the car is off. the manual says that its function is to deter robbers. I say its pointless.

bridgestone tyres and alloys. ABS comes as standard.

and now the things i dont really like about the car

the rear lights will take some getting used to. they are all over the place!

there are scratches near the door handles already. i guess its because of the paint.

overall, the family loves this car. i think that the price tag is justifiable for a 1300cc fully loaded hatch back. i'm glad that we didnt go for an imported car. I wish it had airbags, but then again beggars can be choosy.. atleast it has ABS

    As chinyoti said

I drive around a 100kms daily within Karachi, which includes gentle cruising on Sharea Faisal and slow driving in traffic mostly.

On the highway, in the day I have to stick to speed limits.

In the night on highway, usually late on empty roads, the swift easily does 140-160km/h.

I try sticking to 120, but i cant keep my eyes on the speedo all the time and it does cross over most of the time.

some say its for a rear camera, some say its the nozzle for the washer for the rear windshield, but since there is no wiper, there is no washer

^ the washer or the camera, Logicly its for the washer, but no wiper no washer.

Altho some very aqalmand people say its for the camera, i doubt you could hardly use the camera after placing it at that height, (the lens only)

Cameras coming now can be fitted by removing one of the number plate lights, But in thoose cameras the lense in designed in such a way that it can be used.

People who install a camera in the swift in that light, i first of all doubt theres sufficient space, secondly its of no use.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

my guess is that it was space for a washer in the high end model of the japanese swift( from where 90% of the swifts parts r imported from, according to pak suzuki dealers) but as paksuzuki deemed it as useless, they just put a plastic thingy on it...

Congrat to PAK SUZUKI for making complete fool of their clients.

    Always drive safe.
hahaha... true! but u've no idea how glad i am that there is SOMETHING better than the 80's technology cars available here. and the so called "equipment" in this car is usually found in bigger saloons.
so things r improving. and unfortunately because of limited choice, such small things bring immense happiness to us poor people

the review is fair and if this car had a dual airbag option it'd be one of the best small cars available in pk (local &/or import).

mashAllah nice car, suzuki has really outdone themselves this time.

though, kindly dont blame their paint or door if you're too excited to key the handle. thats not the manufacturers fault.

though, kindly dont blame their paint or door if you're too excited to key the handle. thats not the manufacturers fault.
I wonder why would anyone use keys to lock/unlock when the key has two buttons on it to do the job

All Japanese and European swifts have a rear wiper and washer in all versions. This is not a high end version feature. Swift is almost 80% composed of imported parts according to Paksuzuki general manager (not 90 or 99% as claimed by dealers), it does have several local components as well.
All in all it is nevertheless the only decent suzuki car assembled here.
