10 km/L is too low. His engine may require tunning or old spark plugs or tappets may be out of adjustment.

In rawalpindi you can get these things from Rawal Motors ( the one opposite to Toyota Rawal motors) (opposite to Baahria Phase VII)

My friend is looking for a second hand (preferably suzuki approved used) 2013 swift DX... What are the problems these cars can have?
    I own a 2010 swift and i haven't had any issues.
However people on this forum have complained that the later models have faulty boot seals causing water to accumulate in the boot where the spare wheel is stored.
So this is the stuff he should check :
    1. Signs of rust in spare wheel area
    2. Complete maintenance history from suzuki dealership
    3. Take his mechanic and check body for any dented / repainted parts.

    Anything else?

    That's about it I assume^

Take a drive on a bumpy road as well, Swift is not so good at those roads. Just make sure the car is mechanically fit, that's what bothers you in the long run! . And raise the car on a jack/ramp and take a look underneath as well. Give my greetings to him!

Guys, i am regretting i bought a Swift. It's been 3 months and 3000 KMS and my swift dlx is giving me surprises every week.

Now, the latest issue being brake noise. There is a squeaky noise along with a noise of some part moving from the front wheels that comes whenever i apply brakes. This is irritating. I spent 1.3 million rupees on a car and this is what i got?

Has anyone experienced the same brake noise?

Is that during hard braking? ABS probably kicked in. Get them to do alignment and wheel balancing, that too for free as your car is new!
Get it checked from 3S as your car is in Warranty. Regarding the 1.3 million thingy, Welcome to Pakistan!

AC compressor grip came off within 2 days when I got my car, the doors leaked water( Slight alignment was needed), 3 speakers were messed up and that's about it. I love this car

Yes it comes when i apply brakes hard! But it never came before! It's a new car. Is it normal?

Sometimes i think i should have gone for a Honda or some thing else instead of a Swift!

Yes, it's normal! The ABS module has sensors located near each wheel. As soon as the Sensor notices that a tire is slipping when braking hard ( Emergency, Snow, Mud etc) it starts pumping your brakes for you- Gazzillion times each second.

Swift is a good car, it has all the goodies and is practical.

Once I was driving in a muddy place and ABS check light came on. I thought to myself " Ohh eff this, gotta spend an hour or so at 3S trying to get this fixed" as soon as I touched a proper road, the light came off. Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah SWT and ABS brakes, I've avoided many donkeys suddenly appearing and what not!

I know yaar. But these noises are too irritating. You think this sound is of ABS? If it is, then it was never there before, it just started.

Yes it is as explained by @faiz.aslam.121 above it kicks in during hard breaking. But if it's too irritating then there is no harm to visit a 3S for inspection. You are in warranty period so better utilize it.

Get it checked by 3S tomorrow- Brake system is not something you want to compromise on
Check your tires for correct air pressure as well.

I have checked the tyre pressures. I have kept 33 in the front and 30 in the back as per Suzuki's manual.

Suzuki is a good car, but at times, when these irritating sounds/issues appear, it makes me wonder if it worthy of 1.3 million price tag!

The brake noise was never there until two days back and it keeps getting louder when i apply brakes hard. Has anybody experienced this squeaky noise along with a noise of something moving in the front wheels during braking?

    Wheel balancing/Alignment- get it done.
Was it raining for the past 2 days where you are currently? Have a look at the rotors. Get the gap between disc and rotor checked.
Take 2 U-turns, one to the left and one to the right with the steering wheel fully locked to either side.

My car has no issues like this despite me driving on crappy roads etc.

I am in Karachi so no rains here!

Wheel Balancing and alignment already? Don't you think its too early considering my car is just 3 months old?

Still a Suzuki. Get it checked tomorrow. Tell the mechanic the symptom's of the car and the problems you're experiencing, he will take a test drive with you and inspect it afterwards.

Even Porsche's catch fire, they cost more than yours and mine Swift, that too by ten-folds.!
