I am thinking about improving the stock sound system, what do you guys recommend?
I thought about installing components and amp, but was worried it might create a wiring mess inside the cabin.

i have changed the front stock speakers with Infinity comps and placed a 2ch Pioneer on them. Result is awesome.
BUT keep one thing in mind, the doors are very light and hence the bass makes it vibrate like hell and it makes a lot of noise. The proper remedy is to either use Dynamat which is very heavy to dampen the doors or the cheaper alternative is to use the underlay which i would also be going for soon...

I don't know why or how they did it, but they made this mistake.

Instead of consciously calculating and raising the height of the car, they just jacked the front up by one whole damn inch.

Apart from the looks, it doesn't make much of a difference in normal and even preppy everyday driving.

However, I've driven mine around 80,000kms now and I've experimented quite a bit with the suspension, and even an inch of lowering improves the cornering and the braking and overall road grip by an incredible margin. I also put in lowering springs once and that was a 2.5 inch drop and I don't lie when I say that the control was such that the car would remain rooted to the road and I'd fall here and there inside.

But all of the above is when the car is pushed to its limits, and when u can put up with the discomfort and hardness of a lowered suspension as well scraping the underside at every speedbreaker. For normal driving with only occasional aggression, it is very inconvenient and annoying.

Also, when aligning the car using computers and sensors, the default input is of *Swift 2WD 04-09 15-16"*. This setting does not account for the one inch raise and although this makes very little observable difference in daily driving, perfectionists like me remain sore over the offset.

In normal, usual, daily driving of any style, the raise front doesn't make much of a difference apart from looks and is actually good for ground clearance- my Swift on stock settings clears everything easily whereas my brother's Vitz scrapes its underside everywhere.

    Hope this helps :-)

Thanks . So this means apart from looks, no issues? not even bottom touching the speedbraker when 5 ppl are sitting ?
One thing more, is adding spacers in rear suspension fine or is it a bad thing ur doing with ur car ?

    @Yawar

Salam. any luck finding the Display Info unit u posted earlier ?

How will they make the doors rattle less? I thought they were used to decrease the outside noise level

And also, where did you place the amp? Has it caused some sort of wiring mess?

The sheets stick to the frame of the door and hence increases the weight of them and then they rattle less. Yes they decrease the sound coming from outside as well as reduce the cabin noise and sound/vibrate proof your doors. The material has a bit of tar in it and it does weigh a lot.
Another solution is to add underlay to the underside of the plastic of the door, like behind the wall of the plastic instead of the metal door frame as the plastic makes that vibration noise. adding weight would significantly reduce the vibration.

My amp is placed below the passenger seat and no wiring issues as all the wiring is done from under the carpet.

No issues apart from looks under normal use. 5 people is a lot and I have never had more than 3 people including me in the car. No touching.
Spacers are bad. Cars are built with certain dimensions in mind that compliment lots of things. You change one variable without calculations and measures to counter its effects, u mess up the balance and dimensions of ur car.
Cars are engineered and every bit of change makes a difference.

    Stay away from spacers.

I've had 8 people sit (including me) - only once. Did not touch even one of Karachi's speed-brakers, had no problem climbing inclined planes or while braking. U just have to avoid them in a circular turning fashion.
Spacers would NOT be recommended at all because Factory Stock car runs well and is the best...tampering with jugars and locally made add-ons' affect the durability and performance.
The already stiff suspension of Swift with spacers would make it very uncomfortable

i once had 6 people including me, the car DID touch the speed breakers that were badly made and were pretty high.
No problems with the well built speedbreakers.
Spacers are never recommended, they damage the suspension and make the car pretty uncomfortable because as spacers wont let the spring contract

Sir u would still get the car manufactured in 2012
Why am I saying this because Suzuki azim motors owner said to me that the model doesn't changes this march unless it's Suzuki mehran or Ravi
That's why I m buying swift on Monday
Invoice would be from 1 January and registered in Jan
So the car would show model 2013 and registered Aswell
However u can check the model it is somewhere near seatbelt I guess!!!

However u can check the model it is somewhere near seatbelt I guess!!!
@utraja .... thanks for the input ... I got a different story from the dealers about invoicing and model / registration. I visited 3 4 dealers and asked them if they can give me 2013 model with january invoice and they stated that this is not possible, as all the dealers have to close their stock and send stock details along with revenue/sale status to karachi headquarters. They added that if someone is saying you to buy now and we'll give u invoice of jan 2013, they're bluffing and dont do this.... and this sounded logical to me for a couple of reasons: (1) Warranty start period (2) If you buy now and price goes up and ur invoice has not yet been made to karachi hq, who will pay the difference ? dealer wud say YOU to pay? but u already bought the car (3) Stock detail status submission to Suzuki HQ from dealers sounded logical as the dealers cannot withheld the invoice for long (stated by the dealers themselves) .... I dont think Suzuki azim motors would be giving you any written signed confirmation for the invoice/model to be 2013, are they ???

Only one dealer stated me that buy now we'll give u invoice of jan 2013 (Suzuki Central Motors Rwp) ... Rest all of them stated otherwise (Suzuki Jan Motors Saddar rwp, General Automobiles morgah, Federal Motors abpara).

So, rather than buying now and getting in to trouble with invoice later on just because some nutskull dealer confirmed u, my suggession would be to wait what like 15 days only and buy on 1st jan so as to ensure ur model and invoice date is in 2013. I didnt go for central motors because by my experience their sale persons are dubious in telling u things.

Moreover, yesterday my friend told me that federal motors are going to receive new stock from karachi in next 10 days, so i would visit them definitely to check what they have. However, all dealers have margins in freight price and many give their customer some discount in frieght charges, but federal motors were not lowering the frieght, not even a singly penny... so this thing also hv to be kept in mind, as they i'll save from the freight will use in buying other small stuff for my car.

Also, the dlx player is good but remote is not available in the car, so u wud need to find the market to find its remote ... i m saying this cuz while driving i use the remote alot. See my previous post about steering wheel mod if someone can guide me to it ...

Do ask again to suzuki azim motors abt this thing and also a couple of others to confirm, and also let us know here on forum plz abt ur chat with dealers ....

I hope this helps you in buying your swift. Wish u best of luck ...

    Regards.
