My car gave me an average of 13.75 litre. All driven within city. Driven normally. Gear changed between 2000 and 2500 rpm. And occasional racing against other cars. AC was on 40 % of the times.

Figures I quoted are with 100% AC in Karachi's heat, Karachi's traffic and Karachi's awesome roads. Surely Islamabad doesn't allow that much luxury
We in Karachi can only dream for such figures

I have recently installed IFR6J11 on the Swift. I hope this improves the fuel economy as previously mentioned in the forum I am hardly getting 10 km/l with AC. Will post any improvements here..

    I have a 2012 model swift dlx ! Was getting ,
10.5 in worst traffic, 11-11.5 in normal traffic & on long route 15.5km/l with AC all time ON !!
but when i recently changed its tyres to 185/65 ,the mileage has dropped a bit likewise
10 in worst traffic, 10.4-10.80 in normal traffic & on long route 15.5km/l with AC all the time !!

I ended up going for liqui moli synthoil high tech 5w-40
Gear Oil was Zic FF with Liqui Moli additive tube

Initial impressions are a much smoother gear box and ride! the car feels different. i also got the dealer to finally open the rear trim and get rid of the noise
Any other fellow change the Gear Oil then please share the brand specification or above said gear oil "Zic FF with Liqui Moli additive tube" is sufficient.

I tried searching for these but could not find them in Pakistan. If you know anyone coming from UK,US, etc ask them to bring these or if you get a chance to go abroad yourself you can get these.

Their gap is factory set so do not let any mechanic alter them.

In what price you got them ? What difference you found in pick, performance, mileage.

I have just bought a brand new swift dlx. While driving from showroom to home i noticed a unique sound when the pressed break peddle is releases like "rrrr" ...well this sound not appear every time but appears when the paddle is pushed hard or suddenly.....I just got remembered that some of my friend told me previously that drum breaks produces such sounds .....I just wanted to confirm whether it is correct that it is the drum breaks that are producing this sound or the ABS...or what? Do I need to take the car back to showroom...?

Its just the ABS, totally normal. You will also feel a vibration in the brake pedal whenever ABS kicks in, that is normal too. I am talking from experience, have 2 DLX for past 4 years.
    Enjoy your new car, congrats.

I believe you were planning to buy a Wagon R. What made you change your mind? My brother and I already have Swifts, I am confused about buying a Wagon or a Swift for my wife.

Yes, It is ABS. It is normal if ABS is working during sudden hard braking or when you want the car to stop quickly by pressing the pedal hard. Some problematic ABS works in normal circumstances like when you push pedal lightly but in your case, ABS is only working during hard braking which is normal.

i am a proud owner of a swift dlx 2012 and it has been a joy till now, what i am facing now is some strange "khad khad" sound from the hatch, i have inspected it, took of the plastic trim added foam padding but its getting worst, i got it checked from the 3s guys but they just played with the adjustment rubbers on the hatch but to no use

another noise a "kinkering" sound is coming from the front passenger door, i took off the plastic trim from the door and the seatbelt area and to my astonishment found out that the noise did not disappear, i tried to check where the noise was coming from while on road as well as stationary but have not understood what it is

i even have cleaned up the "mitti" tightened any loosened up screws, checked the wires if any is hitting the door etc. but nothing, applied a little bit of grease on the metal surface before putting the plastic trims back (and yes i glued more foam to the trims because suzuki had been a bit stringy in applying foam)

BUT, alas, the sounds they are becoming louder - i have tried almost everything that i could do and now need some feedback if others are facing similar issues and has anyone been able to conquer these noises?

There is test, does your hatch door have a "play" when you press it in inside while closed ( in the direction of the car)? and if you lightly hit your hatch from the outside with a little "mukka" (punch) does it make obnoxious sounds?

One last thing majority of the sounds appear on slightly uneven roads but the door sound comes even while driving on a kids butt!

any help would be much appreciate because the noise has gotten on my nerves and i might sell it which i dont want to do

My Swift 2013 started giving tick tick and chu chu noise from every door, dashboard and from hatch after 6K kilometers on odo and now it is 33k driven. I have never driven my swift on bad roads. It is totally driven on smooth roads of Gulberg and Model Town Lahore. I think this chu chu and tick tick is because of low quality plastic of interior plus electrical wires inside doors and hatch are free and are not padded with any foam or rubber. That why we can experience these noises even in new Swifts. My mom always laughs and says that it is not a car, it is DUGDUGI in reality.
So enjoy driving your DUG DUGEEs with tick tick chu chu tick tick tick tick............
