I have already done the following :
    1. Changed spark plus to iridium
    2. Got tires changed and air pressure 33 / 30 psi as per instructions
    3. Got the car checked on Suzuki diagnostic system OBD scanner - no problems found
    4. Got the ignition coil and leads checked - no problem found again
    5. Using genuine Air filter only

What else could be the issue that is causing such poor fuel economy ?.

Dear cool Tahir and other fellow PW members, I am a silent reader of this thread since last 3 months, before buying My Swift DLX i have read almost whole thread (previously i had Vitz, Cultus and GLI) and when i Buy this mini monster (swift), felt really proud and fall in love with my new drive. This whole thread is really awesome and very informative.

Now coming to the point which Tahir is mentioning here. What i noticed during drive of this Beauty is as below:-

I've noticed that there are certain types of foot loads on acceleration which plays really vital role in your fuel efficiency. As i normally use to drive with very light foot in city and change the gears in between 2K to 3K normally. It gave me approx 14 Km/L average with AC on all the times. on M/Way this average goes to approx 17.5 Km/L with normal foot. But if we push it with heavy foot than average comes down to 11 Km/L.

This is my personal experience till now and there is a possibility of variations in it. But till now its drive is amazing with out any problem. Will try to upload the pics very soon

    Congratx bro
Yes swift is a mini beast
Its acceleration is more than other 1.3 cars
Only draw back or minus point of swift is a hard suspension and bad fuel ecconomy
But these problems can be solved by
1.fill 28 psi in all tyres if your route is on a unpatched and very bad road
By this act ride will become more comfy however tyres life and fuel ecconomy will be lil bad

    2. I've observed some people drive with a lil hard foot specialy while driving 1.3 or above car by this act car's fuel ecconomy will go down badly.
Yes its a bit hard job to hold our horses while driving a swift and change gear at 2-3 rpm and u'll see other cars crossing you but petrol is most expensive fuel so we have to change our driving habits

3.spark plugs play an important role in fuel consumption .
Old and cheap spark plugs reduces fuel ecconomy
Changing spark plugs to Ik20 will help in getting good fuel ecconomy.

I'm willing to buy Swift DLX but my major concern is it's fuel consumption.

This is the gear oil I used. Approx 2.4 liters. So you will need 3 bottles. They cost 500-600 each if I can remember correctly sorry for bad pics, my arm hurts

satisfied with this oil, downside is that gears are hard to get into 1st and 2nd when engine/transmission is cold. I guess that's the case with most manual cars anyway.see if you can get this same rating and viscosity in Liqui moly or other good brands just follow the manual. It should be written in your manual, but iirc, it is every 40,000 km.

Stay away from PSO. Manual says 10w30 or 10w40. Your pick.

Engine oil is fast becoming an overrated topic here.

As long as you change on time and use a quality product, it doesn't matter.
