@fastian04 Thanks for your reply. Do they have different kind(s) of warranties? I mean does changing with different company oil means the whole vehicle warranty gets void or some part of it ? Thanks.

I had the same discussion with an owner of a Suzuki dealership in Karachi. I had filled mine with Shell Helix and the car had gone for the normal service routine. He told me strictly that under warranty one should avoid 3rd party lubricants since it voids warranty. He told me that IF some issue comes up in your engine or performance due to which the car is given for warranty, the lubricant samples etc are sent to labs for check as to what caused the issues. Depending on that Suzuki takes the responsibility under warranty and pays for all the expenses while the customer enjoys the facility of official warranty. Given they find in the lab test that a 3rd party lubricant was used instead of PS's own propreitory lubricant, they mark the warranty void, tell you the scenario and all the cost comes back on customer. Which is a valid reason on their end.

Till your car is under warranty, follow the proper protocol and have a relaxed time.
By this policy it really doesn't mean that Pak Suzuki uses pathetic quality oil and charge exorbitant prices while you want the ultra rich Zic A+ or Helix. Their engine oil is also good and runs perfect in stock environment with no knocking, good fuel average and lasting performance. Once warranty expires, experiment with all the lubricant you want.

Well there is no lab testing involved. Suzuki maintains a central database to ensure that every oil change is logged against ur car records. All showrooms have access to this system and ur records are always updated aby service purchases etc. Same is done by honda and toyota. sgo is just total quartz so its database system which help them identify the valid warranties

I am facing the same kind of rattling noise coming from the front right end of the car. At first I thought it was the 3rd party security alarm horn, but got it tightened and it is still coming. Sadly the car is out of warranty. Any idea what's the reason?

There is lab testing involved when the problem involves your engine, meaning engine requires replacement or overhaul. That is a industry wide practice. Yes they also maintain database which also determines but its not 100% full proof to gain evidences. You didn't read properly what I said.

The service intervals are unevenly spaced and often people change their oil only at 3000 kms. They don't always go to the dealership. They get the third party oil and fill it up and then when the required service interval comes, they go normally and get the normal suzuki oil or opt out of oil change. No lab test etc is done and neither would they notice 3rd party oil being used because they are not stupid. Even they know what happens

Not audio system area. It feels like behind the speedometer and a bit far away. Feels like from the bonnet or something between the bumper and steering column.

Tell you people how Suzuki dealership guys recognize whether you are using Suzuki oil or some other one? They pull out oil dip stick and check its color and smell. Suzuki oils are yellowish in color manufactured by Total. So, if they see some other color oil in the engine with slightly different smell, they will start their usual parrot rant "o ji warranty claim nhi kar sakte aap, koi aur oil use kar rahe hain aap".

Just have good relations with the dealership you regularly visit. I would say take the risk after 2 years.
