for 1300cc cars duty alone is US$10,000 - add that to the invoice of zero meter Swift in Japan which is at least another 10,000 US$. Add transport cost, marine insurance, and other charges. Will Paksuzuki sell the Swift at 70-80 percent loss ? Simply not possible. All the Swift's sold in Pakistan (starting from the first one) are made from imported CKD parts (which the company can import on low duty) + local parts.

    Also, the JDM swift has:
    1. retractable mirrors,
    2. airbags,
    3. pretensioner seatbelts,
    4. rear wiper + washer,
    5. trunk light,
    6. climate control (optional),
    7. headlight leveling
    8. isofix seats
    9. shopping hooks
    10. information display (temperature + fuel economy meter)
and other features missing from the local Swift.
I have one with the pak suzuki invoice. come to see it if you dont believe it.

The PAMA statistics reveal that PS started local production of Swift in October 2009 whereas the launch was in January 2010.

@FarhanAnwarKhan if they removed the JDM parts and replaced then with PKDM parts then it doesn't remain a JDM anyway . The initial model of Swift's had a high percentage of imported parts whichi gradually are getting localized or so i heard.

@retalliator there are a very simple ways to tell if a swift is JDM or not : (1) did your swift come with the two stickers at the rear screen which show environmental standards compliance and some Japanese rating (all cars made and sold in japan have those) (2) look at the vehicle id of your swift if starts with 'RS413PK.....' it's 100% made in PAKSUZUKI plant in Port Qasim, if it starts with 'DBAZ....' it is made in japan. similarly, there are different VIN number series for European and Indian makes as well.
if you do have a JDM Swift sold by Paksuzuki you are the first person i've heard and are extremely lucky

Swift owners i need your very fair opinion. I am planning to buy suzuki swift DLX model but agian my concern is its milleage/lit. I am asking you for this for the reason that i travel 105 kms per day (round trip) from my home to office. I mainly use GT road where average speed remains between 70 to 100. I am concerned about swift's milleage.

I like swift in terms of looks and ofcourse added accessories it provides which lack in other local assembled cars and I have no other comcern regarding swift other than milleage (I am not interested in imported cars so please dont recommend my to buy one.). Please give your honest opinion.

I am away from the car. its chasis plate has writen Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan written on it. Suzuki always do this: they bring in a few cars from japan in the begining. There was a 1000 cc Suzuki Sedan Swift (which was later on produced as 1300 cc margalla) in my family. then there was a japanese old swift 1000cc which was also made in japan.

Hello! Hope you are all fine fellow members?

I'm a very proud owner of a Brand New Suzuki Swift DLX in WHITE today! It's an absolute treat MashAllah!
I was of an opinion of changing the audio system but somehow the sound it produces is quite balanced, which is astonishing as it's as stock as the baby's first cry! BUT....IF i do need to change the speakers (front and back), which ones do the "MEMBERS" suggest id'e go for?
The Rims and the BS Turanzas are absolutely awesome as well. The feel of the ride and the handling is superb and WHAT AN UPGRADE this is for me (i owned a Daihatsu Cuore before, i'm not saying thats a bad car, but DAMN the swift is a whole new league of hot hatches)!

The only 2 things which are incomplete are the, #1 (no remote for the stereo system) and #2, the horn is really bad (suggestions and make and models of the horns are also very welcome from the members)!
