The usual crap they say when they don't know anything about something. Synthetic is fine in Swift, don't worry.

Hi guys. Discovered this thread accidentally yesterday and it contains a hell lot of information and I'm proud to say that I am also part of this club as I have bought a 2012 silver dlx 3 weeks back. So far im really loving this car.
Guys I have a few questions.
Which oil filter do you guys use. When I took my car for changing the oil I was offered 2 filters by the dealer.
    1) guard filter for Rs 150(on it was written made for suzuki)
    2) Japanese filter for Rs 950.
The suzuki guy recommended the gaurd filter saying both work the same. He said we install the Japanese filter when the customers use the shell oil which lasts 7000 km ( I think he was referring to the synthetic oil).
Secondly what is covered in the extended warranty. Is it worth paying extra money for it?.

    Hi.
    Welcome to the SS club
I ain't no professional so yeah.

The 150 Rs filter fits all Suzukis and is a bit smaller in size. The original Japanese one 950 Rs is purely made for Swift. I just use the Guard one since I get my oil changed at 5000 km and yes I do use Liqui Moly!

And for extended warranty, I think you can get warranty for 3 years Or 50/60,000 km which ever comes first. I think it costs 9000 rupees etc or something, and that is something I would go for.

Funny thing, I don't even know what my warranty covers lol

Hope an expert can correct me/ add some more useful info ^_^

I've always used the original filters. Why take risks with other parts when you have OEM easily available? It costs 950rs but its a once a month expense for me, maybe even longer lasting for you.
Pick both in your hands and you will notice a difference immediately in finish, build and even weight.

I am using leppon oil filter, its a Malaysian brand. The oil filter is for 200 and air filter is for 400. Never had any problem with it, no oil leakage nothing. Its an excellent filter and I am also using Leppon in my reborn and city.

I will tell you what Suzuki covers under warranty, "fighting" and that's it. You will have an issue and they will say its completely your fault or it isn't covered under warranty and as a result you will end up just fighting with them.

what do you mean by banged up? When I purchased my swift, one of the speaker wasn't working. The very next day I went to the showroom and said this isn't working and as usual they said water went in and its my fault. But when I said I got the car just yesterday and it hasn't even been washed yet then they had to take the claim and get me new speaker.

    @faiz thanks
@ruhail will check both next time I change the oil
@onthehonda lol. So the dealership u bought your vehicles from acts like the mobile company wala (The same reason you must have dropped your phone in water). I dont know why these people are so reluctant to take claims.

Btw guys I have another query. What is the cyclone?. Its mentioned in the service schedule.

And can someone post the pic of their swift with mudflaps, havent seen a single one on the road with them.

True. I got a silver dlx on 16-11-10 one day before eid. I transferred money into one of the dealerships A/C that was in an online branch close by. The car was delivered to me on the same day few mins before showroom was closing for eid. I had to tip the cleaning boys to stay after working hours and clean my car before delivery but i was very insistent on driving my new car on eid
