cant be stolen unless car specific electronic key is used.
While adding power to your ride, upgrade the brakes first.

I have immobilizer in my car, I tried with normal duplicate key made from a road side vendor these were the results:

    1. Can open the door and boot lid lock.
    2. Can turn in the ignition switch.
    3. Moving key to start position caused the starter motor to spin the crank shaft. The orange engine light started blinking.
    4. Enginer cranked but not started, repeated many times but to no avail.
    5. Took the key out and used the original key to start the engine and it came to life like a breeze.
    6. Inserted the dublicate key again and crancked the engine meanwhile made the physical contact of the original key with the copy key inside the switch (touched the copy key with the original key) and in result the engine started and remained started even when the physical contact was removed.

    Abstract:
The immobilizer is a front line deterent. BUT there can and may exist a by pass to fool the electronics and start the car. BTW as the door locks can be opened by duplicate key hence the vluables in the cabin can be stolen.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I own Liana 09 which has immobilizer.
As per my info, original keys are encoded and compatable with ECU of car. You found the way how to deceive system by using duplicate key and touching encoded key.
What I found with your experiment is that one could have a lil peace of mind with immobilizer in car. Cuz even in your experiment you need original encoded key.
May Allah protect our lives and everything.

Yes! it can be stolen by a modern thief
What the thief needs is a key, ignition switch and an ecu , of a car.
All the above 3 items should be taken from one car.

getting these things handy all he needs to do is to jack up the new ecu and ignition switch to a similar car and drove away the car.

PS this is my own assumption and I may be wrong so correct me if I am wrong
My dear ALLAH when I loose hope, help me to remember that Your love is greater than my disappointment and Your plans for my life are better than my Dreams.

Nope. Can't be stolen. It's a very nifty feature and a successful technology to counter car theft. Wondering why Paki cars are not equipped with this technology.

In real world its simply not that easy for a thief atleast, to replace the ECU, bypass the immobilizer, start the car and go.....

If corolla starts introducing immbolizer in the car i can assure you the car thief gangs and they are powerfull will get the equipment needed to go pass immbolizer.

Its just that they are not intrested in Swift/Liana/Baleno :p.

So it is not the immobilizer system of Honda that we should thank... We should thank Toyota for risking their cars and saving ours...

What I see is that IMC is party with the big car thief gangs, currently Corolla is a hot cake for every one and a sitting duck for the thiefs, if IMC will fit immobilizer the stealing rate of Corolla will dicrease and will eventually decrease the sales hurting IMC in their pockets, so they are minting money here with the help of thiefs. Other wise what stops them putting a deterent in 1.5+ million vehicle?

May be they can't steel our cars with immobilizer but they can still snatch it away on gun point or they can enter the car and steal valuables inside the car.

In the end its only Allah who can protect us.
May he protect all of our lives and property.

my friends new baleno was stolen in 10 mints from parking
    it was having a immobilizer.

bmw and merc got good security system but they also get stolen
its not the immobilizer which saves your car its your luck.

locks cannot stop a car from being stolen they just increase the time it takes to stole a car.

define ur own lock , security switch any thing which u know where it is u can save your car easily.
