Default my experience of the PKDM Swift auto (2014)

    Hi there,

my family has bought a suzuki swift auto in dark blue color.

I already have a 2010 PKDM swift DLX (https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mem...ence-new-swift) and have enjoyed it so much that my family decided to buy the auto version of the same car.

We needed a hatchback with all safety and security features and this is the car that met our requirement.

I have kept a JDM 660cc (https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mem...-daihatsu-move) and was not too keen to buy a second hand JDM car this time. especially after this thread: (https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/spo...ese-660cc-cars)

    Total cost uptil now:
    Price of car: 1,416,000
Tax paid during booking (tax payer) : 50,000
    Insurance (insured for 1,468,000):44,000
    Registration: 53,000
    freight charges: 17,800
Floor mats and mudflaps (purchased from the suzuki dealership) : 1700

    videos:

PKDM '14 suzuki swift 0-80 km/hr -full throttle - Video Dailymotion

PKDM '14 suzuki swift 40-125 km/hr -full throttle - Video Dailymotion

fuel mileage of first 267 kms : 10.74 km/l (details in post #183)
Second fuel mileage ( car driven since new -501 km) : 10.52 km/l

    Post 500 and 1000 kms
    Average mileage :10 km/l

You can get mudflaps, but do try to get the hidden area cleaned oftenly. If possible, install a rubber lining b/w the mudflap and car body.

    For the mudflaps problem
just spray pressurized water in the space covered by the mudflap
either at the service station or by yourself using a pressure washer. It ll blast away all the dirt.
strange hearing people having issues with mudflaps. Had mudflaps on almost all cars I owned. Never had any issue with them. And I wash my car alot.

It's because of gravitational force. The brakes and drive train is holding the weight of the car. They will make a tuk sound when applied.

when I apply brake and tuk sound came is ok but when I shift gear lever from parking to reverse then heavy sound with heavy jerk came and moving gear lever take more power then normal like it is stuck and needs more power to move from parking to reverse.

Yes, It's the same in my car in other automatics as well. It will reduce with time- as in, you will get used to it . Nothing to worry about

Sorry bro, I've no idea about that.
The car has done less than 500 kms otherwise would've made a fresh 0-100 km/hr video.

So for now you can assess its acceleration by having a look at the videos posted in the first post - dunno if the acceleration will improve after the running in of the car, so these may not be reliable.

Lol... Pakwheelers are not happy with this. It has to go upto 12-13 so that I can convince people that this is a PKDM worth buying :p

Don't accelerate hard, keep rpms below 2k. It's possible in city driving.

^^ Hi there. Short trips are real mileage killers. Even my Cultus gives 8.5 when driven less than 10 km. This obviously includes a cold start, which gobbles up a lot of fuel .
If driven more than 25 km or so, it gives 12-13. Maybe the same case is with your car? Try measuring average with a longer trip.

Yes, you're right. But unfortunately the auto is only used for short hops - this was the purpose of buying an auto, for slow speed city driving so that we can stop changing gears every 30 seconds.
For longer, high speed trips the other big car is used.
Khair, Will calculate the mileage on a longer trip though - thanks for your suggestion

This car still hasn't done 600 kms. A bit of running in ( till 1000 kms) will improve the mileage as well.

I have booked my Swift Auto and shall be getting it by Monday 25-Aug-14, Insha Allah. Your thread has really given me some useful informations about the car. I have a little concern that I would like someone's input on. Since I have booked my car, I have been noticing that it's ground clearance is really low. Please tell me your experience on that i.e., how it handles itself on speed breakers with four adults on broad. Thanks.
