I think you should take your car to your mechanic as soon as possible because it can be dangerous. Careful examination can tell you the exact problem, rest are just the guesses.
I was planning to get a thorough checkup of the axles this weekend but thought of seeking advice from you guys before going to the mechanic.
If the problem is with axles, I think you should buy Kabli ones which are good in condition. Because once I was going to change my car's axles with new Chinese ones but my mechanic told me that although the current axles are not so calm but they are far more durable and risk free than the Chinese ones, so I didn't change them. This is my view, wait for the experts to reply.
Hmmm,
What about the condition of your car,s axles?
Do they create some sounds in bumps etc?
Any idea which would be the best place to get these axles in good shape?
Mithu Khan in Saddar is the only place that comes to my mind.
Today I have also encountered a problem, I think our Khybers are getting old
While driving I noticed that Petrol smell is coming from my car's engine. I opened the bonnet and saw petrol leaking from a rubber pipe which is connected to the fuel pump. I parked my car on road side and applied nito tape on the cracked pipe to stop the leakage for the time being. Then I took my car to mechanic. He told me that all the rubber pipes are in bad shape so you must change them. Second thing he told me was that the fuel pump's diaphragm is also leaked. The same thing was told to me by my own mechanic few months ago. He told me that these cars have mechanical pumps and when you run the car on CNG, they started leaking after sometime because the pump is working all the time, either the car is on CNG or petrol. He said that you should get some electronic pump as it works only when current is supplied to it.
Now I want to know that is it a good idea to replace my car's fuel pump with some electronic pump? If yes than what are the options? I mean which electronic pump will work good in Khyber and what would be its price. Also tell me what is the best company for rubber pipes?
Thanks.
Your fuel pump needs to be replaced.
Do a simple experiment,
In the morning start your car on petrol with the hood opened and examine the fuel pump.
If it leaks fuel then it means the diaphram is damaged and your fuel pump needs replacement.
Moreover if its the faulty fuel pump then the fuel leakage will stop just within a couple of minutes or as soon as the car becomes a bit hot.
Remember that the fuel pump, if its damaged will only leak fuel on cold startups.
Once the car heats up a little there would be no leakage.
Khyber comes equipped with a mechanical fuel pump and I dont think that you can fit an electronic one in it.
Fuel pumps are usually damaged when the car is mostly used on CNG.
I changed the fuel pump of my car in last December and got the genuine one from Kiyani Autos for Rs.1800.
