Another Civic with same old comparatively inefficient fuel guzzling 1.8l engine is useless and uninteresting from a technology perspective. Fuel efficiency is a requirement of current times (regardless of currently lowered fuel prices - they will go up again in future) and the 1.8l NA engine just doesn't cuts it.
Every excuse for the 1.5l turbo not coming here with regards to fuel, proper upkeep, etc is invalid keeping in mind articles and interviews of Honda personnel posted here previously. Only valid reason is the technical risk associated with its introduction by Atlas Honda which they seem to be unwilling to take.
This cancerous mindset of the so-called big three is the result of lack of legitimate competition and it needs to be countered through the upcoming auto policy by completely opening up the auto sector to competition. Damned be the limited number of jobs associated with this sector being regularly cited as a reason not to open up this sector to open competition and holding the entirety of this country hostage to substandard, unsafe and overly expensive cars.
