In US the baseline fuel is already 87. People are quoting a USDM Civic using regular but the regular 87 is higher RON as per European.
In Thailand their regular is 91 same as US regular.. so it ran fine on 9th and will run fine on 10th.
When Honda Atlas them self recommended HI octane 91 "ONLY".. we have no other choice to follow.. people use wrong engine oils and it runs fine but overtime we feel diffrence.
As I said earlier, after spending 3 million in Pakistan on a car , where car is an investment.. I am not sure if someone will risk by putting a lower quality fuel../ other than recommended fuel.
On side note.. my wife by mistake put a regular 91 fuel in our car here with recommended 95 and I could feel an immediate diffrence in engine noise and response..
Yes as far as your insight about the compression comment , I totally understand but again. When a manufacturer suggest and recommend.. it becomes complicated..
