Guys, we need to put pressure on Atlas to bring down the price of 1.8 Oriel to 2.4 lacs. It's not about if you can afford the extra 140k or not, it's about not getting ripped off. Previous gen price increase could be justified due to crazy inflation and dollar yen exchange rates, but this time inflation is not that bad, and dollar has been stable for last 2 years. They have already recently increased the car price to adjust the slight increase in yen. This almost 150k of increase on 1.8 Oriel is unjustified.
You add new features with every model change at similar price, that's how technology transfer from high end luxury cars to everyday runners. These features get cheaper and cheaper to build. ABS used to be a luxury some years ago, now it's a standard and the cheapest cars even have it overseas.
VSA, Push start, Hill start and electronic parking do not cost that much. They are just programs that are built once, they have no manufacturing cost added to each car. Just like any computer program you just copy them. They use the same machine and hardware that is already there. Brakes, ABS, parking brakes are already there, now a computer is involved and controls them instead of us.
Auto door lock is such an old technology, it's just a software controlling your doors, again, doesn't cost much. Same goes for push start.
They aren't offering anything that is worth the extra money. These electronic goodies are all just standard and very common upgrades.
