Be optimistic. For DRL to work, there are two ways.. once the car is switched on.. DRL are on and when you switch ON headlights, DRL dims or remain with same intensity.
In case of automatic headlights which switch on Sensing dark, in day DRL are on and as soon as it becomes dark the headlight comes on and DRL does dim.. unless you over ride it via a switch as you see it on German cars.
In this picture.. I think the car switch is on off position for white one.. . You can see the red car interior with cluster lit up.. means the car is switched on.. means DRL on..
