The following may cause a lot of shock and trauma to readers, but I've got a pretty decent setup in my Gli that I may migrate to the new ride. It's a single din (GASP! SINGLE DIN IN PLACE OF A FACTORY TOUCHSCREEN NAVI UNIT? Yes, I've tried multiple double din touch screen units from Pioneer and Kenwood, and my honest opinion w.r.t sound quality is that they can't beat relatively old school high end (or even mid end) single din pioneer units when it comes to sound clarity and quality....just my opinion, no lynching please!)
Apart from that shocking revelation, the amps, components and woofer will also go into the new ride, InshAllah. If I could take my stinger roadkill damping sheets along, I would :D.
All in all, I've basically never used the navigation in the 8th gen civic that I've owned (haven't owned the 9th gen, but still really like it). So why complain about shoddy quality of a unit that I plan on taking out and replacing with an old school single din pioneer HU anyway? I believe the steering controls can be made to work with after market HU's, and I'll be investigating threads where fellow pakwheelers have done so, but all in all, I don't really care about the factory units. Wish I could save on them had they been optional, but they're not.
As for navigation to tricky areas unknown to me, my nexus 5's car holder will also be taken out of my Gli and installed somewhere in the new civic, and viola, hands free google navigation!
Yes, I know I'm a total fool for foregoing the factory navi for a single din pioneer. But I'm a fool that I really like, so I'll stick to my old school.
