As I guessed, they have started booking for the hardtop. They had two at honda point yesterday. I asked about the booking and they said the car is readily available, I was like what? are you sure, she called someone and then said delivery time for booking is 1-2 months, but car is available on own. Yup, I don't know how common that is here, but the showroom sales person herself asked for 2 lacs own for same day delivery.
Now the interior of the hardtop is ****. I don't know I felt like sitting in a 10th gen xli or something. The center console has weird cheap fabric. I remember feeling awkward and thinking why would I wanna buy this car, am I upgrading or downgrading.
I know there are new features and stuff but you forget about the vsa, electronic parking bla bla after a while, but you feel the experience sitting in the cabin everyday, and that experience was not good.
This is not my final verdict, of course. I'll go in some other day and try to kindle some love. But I don't know if it will happen. It felt so gloomy sitting in that car as compared to when I got out the showroom and sat in my reborn; it felt good, actually it felt really good.
Oriel Reborn has that nice fabric seats that I really like, same fabric is on the doors; and the foam inside is very soft, it feels comfortable sitting on them, specially the back seats. Steering feels good to touch compared to 10th gen's steering which feels cheap plasticy thing. 10th gen center console looked good in pictures but actually looks and feels... blahhh.
My only complain about Reborn is the terrible multimedia/navigation and the missing S mode in the transmission. It'd have made the driving experience more fun. It upshifts too quickly and loses most of the torque that is available at higher rpm. Other that these two little issues, reborn is great. While driving back I decided not to sell it for some years. It took me a while getting adjusted and develop a bond with any car in Pakistan; I don't want to lose that.
I didn't have much time, only spent like 5-10 mins in there, so civic x interior might grow on me with time, let's see.
And what's with the doors man, you need a ton of force to move them. Getting out of it would be a task for an elderly person.
