A) hopefully the issue will be soon resolved
B) Religiously follow good fuel. Avoid any and all pumps you are shaky about quality. Your driving experience and filling from different pumps will tell you which fuel suits and which doesn't.
C) Problem isn't the car. Problem is the inconsistent quality of fuel around. Fuel mixing, substandard fuel and malpractice by most pumps.

I was delivered 1.5 T in first week of Feb.. haven't heard any tick tick or knocking sound till yet.. floored couple of times too... may be using Total High Octane exclusively is the reason or may be they have rectified this problem in 2017 models, haven't gone for any software update too.. anyways no doubt this car is pure pleasure.. and addictive.

As according to one of the engineer at Honda Dealership location, told that till now we are not able to counter this problem, 5 of 10 cars are facing knocking problems. Its due to petrol quality or abnormal ratio of air and petrol at high acceleration. As this issue is still viral and we dont know its prolong affects over the engine. though continuous knocking hit directly to the engine piston, I think turbo is quite risky. One of my relative has recently sold his turbo due to this issue. What you people say?

Hardtop has almost same ON with slight variation. About delivery, I guess that it will be almost same as if oriels

I am proud happy owner of Red Chilie Turbo...that is a very beautiful machine I have never heared knocking in my car despite I bruttaly R**e my Turbo after only 100 km on meter to speed of sudden acceleration of 195 Km/hr no.issues at all....that is more enjoyable experience...even on advise of one member and to be cost effective I have started to use mix of Ron 92 and HoBc either from Shell or Total...even then that is more than excellent...I advise you to buy Turbo and take pleasure of this wonderful machine. .very new experience to Pakistanis...

I have a civic Turbo booked for july , shall i change to orial 1.8L. It will be a safe option. As knocking issue will definitly hit all the turbo cars sooner or later. Or you think it will solved with a software update?

I booked oriel for july and I think almost every day that I should change it with turbo which is real civic x.

I quite agree with all the points you make. This 1.5 engine has been launched all over the world, not sure about UK. It has won the car of the year award in its class in USA. The web is full of excellent reviews of this engine. So certainly the engineering that went into the car is sound. I only hope that they do not de-tune the engine in the attempt to offset the poor quality fuel (mixing by fraudulent pump operators) sold here.

The Car of the year has been won by the EX with Sensing model, which is the 2.0 liter version. they shoud have introduced the 2 liter as well in pakistan but what can we do now

BTW to me this ticking noise is not that serious coz it appears very less often & i assume it similar to one arising in manual transmission, when gear is higher & situation demands lower in that situation when you floor the pedal, such sor of dampening & voice comes out. this sort of thing may be happenign with the turbo sometimes too but whoever owns turbo knows that this is not taht pain causing. it's tolerable. & onething is more althoug this issue is there even then turbo's demand is linear since its start means people although knowing this, are in quest of it. when you ask from honda they say that they are working on it & if solved, will be applied to the existing owners too by calling off their vehicles as your like mine are waranteed. so no need to take such sort of intense tension.

it's unbelieveable but it's there. now tell me where's the ticking noise. i think genuine users dont' bother what's going on here on PW. so tell me how can honda suspend it's production?? if they had to add 2-3 lac to its price to say resolve this "ticking" issue, even then people are there to buy it. so this can easily be concluded that its not gonna be terminated. it's actually a shortage of turbo kits situation at honda.

Well 4-5 lac is highly inflated and exaggerated figure just checked from market and it's 3 - 3.25 lac
