The dashboard sound you are talking about was coming in my car as well. When i took it to the dealership for first 1000 kms checkup, i complained about it. They checked and fixed in 15 mins, the sound was coming because of the AC duct was a bit loose. That noise has disappeared now. There was another problem with a weird spring sound coming from the driving seat and they got it replaced under warranty. I understand that such type of issues should not pop up in a new car but than again, its a new model and few issues are expected. The thing that matter is the after sales support which the toyota dealerships are quite good at. There arent any paint issues in my car as such.
I may try michellin on civic, it feels pretty bad on TOYAS (not so well carpetted roads) and you feel that its hitting quite hard in those potholes. The infotainment system for which I paid an extra 70k is a mess, its too slow to respond. The front camera however is a welcome addition.
The only thing which i feel lacking about altis is the climate control, those lattoos destroy the interior look which otherwise would have looked very good. I dont care about immobilizer much. The jacknife key they have provided with civic is hideous, looks like a mini remote. Not sure if it was the same which was being provided previously, but the pictures i saw of it in this thread had a pretty sleek look. But this one is big.
