powder coating is quite hard and requires heavy mechanical force to remove. Paint is easily removed even with heat. BUT

your car your money.

if you like this then good for you - the bug being in Karachi (specially DHA) requires that it be protected with loads of body cavity wax.

btw - have you tested this steering gearbox?

the steering box is tried and tested on the car its in very good shape. The car wont be in DHA its only here for the works. For powder cooating will the paint again have to be removed? Would you recommend that I go back to point zero and have them powder coated?

Yes the paint will need to come off, to bare metal, only than the powder coating could bond to the metal!

Ideally the part should be sand blasted first degreased if necessary and then powder coated. The end result is a hard coating that withstands a lot of abuse and looks good longer.
