shshshhhh! off the topic off the topic. 3SGE has all the good things of 4AGE 16v with 25% more displacement. But its replacement parts r not available locally. I would say that u should stay with ur 20v n try to boost it up with some real good goodies.

Well F/I 4AGE 20v Is Nice Idea But Need Lots Of Stuff.......! And A Whole Plan Who To Get It Work....!
AFM Might Creates Problems....! And Also We Need VAFC To Control Fueling With Other Necessary Stuff...!

Real good goodies include, injectors, intercooler, thicker gaskit n remaping for atleast 10psi on some 100+ something octane N I dont c any reason that Y it would not out perform a stock 3sgt.

apologies to the 3s series owneres...bbut iva question.
iv an 85 toyota celica wid a 4age.
now the engine is perfectly fine..no problesm WATSOEver. except one.
the idle rate isnt going lower than 1200 rpms.now my mekanic is pretty good and he says that i need to get the EFI kit serviced n thats all.
i just wana make sure that it isnt anything else.
this problem has affected fuel consumption and is ofcourse irritating me.
can any1 plz help and advise?

sticking to the topic. the 3s series is a engine which was made to replace the crappy old 4ag engine blocks which includes the joke of the engines the 4 throttle joke from toyota the 20v. and as for the corolla gt if you want one i can get you for 800 pounds here in UK. and still no one wants to buy it. corolla was never meant to be a racing car and this gt gimmicks are good enough to find idiots who are willing to be fooled with words and run after them. as for best handling corolla. i bet it will still loose to the world handling proper sports tuned car on the track even the 5 speed rx8 will rape it on the track.

conclusion 3s is an excellent engine. and gt rolla is for people who love words more then thinking

by the way corolla fans and 4ag fan no hard feeling. the world move forward and its over a decade old time to go forward.

bro i knw u can get a corolla gt on 800 pounds in UK..now dnt compare UK with Pak..Uk a first world and here we living in PAkistan..[b] sports tuned car on the track even the 5 speed rx8 will rape it on the track[b].and let me tell u the first day i installed my engine i smoked a brand new rx8 5 speed here in pesh in a q.m dnt underestimate toyota 4age they still one of the power ful engines..and used in many countires for Drag and drift.

ok u wanted to knw abt 3sge i told u abt it..I my self having a BEAMS 3sge blacktop but looking for a Gear to Fit it couz its a rear wheel...and u didnt told me wat u want...are u into drag racing or wat???????if ur then simply go for a 4efte it will give u good milage and power...

check ur plug wires...and map sensor..if still not done then check ur injectors.

i even got the injectors replaced.
there is a bit of oil around the 3rd cylinder plug, wat cud be the reason behind that?....u think i shud replace all my wires and get new plugs also?as they are now around 7000kms old but hav been tuned once.
please advise?
plus..how do i access my map sensors?..i am a novice at this...iv been in2 carbed cars all my life and this is the 1st tym iv hada problem wid my ecu chipped celica.

Throttle Body Can Be The Reason....But High Idle Can Be Because Of So Many Reasons...!
You Have 4AGE 16v TVIS That Also Have TVIS....Activated Around Certain Rpms...So Check Its Piping Also....Check For Any Vacuum Leak Out There.....!
Oil In 3rd Plug Mean Ring Of 3rd Cyl Is Weak Letting Oil Coming Into Cyl.....!
Check For Vacuum Leak And Check ISC Valve Also...! Make Sure ISC Valve Is Functioning Properly As Its Mechanism Get Jamned So It Stop Functioning And If So Much Jamned...The ISC Switch operating it might get heatup...so check that also..!

thanks a lot bro...i really needed that help...the mekanic DID mention that there myt b aleak..but then i cudnt visit him again becoz of all the turmoil in the past few days...anyways...i will get the pipings thoroughly chekd,my cables as well as my plugs...i dont want this 2 agravate...or my engine myt get screwed up.

check ur plug which is leak i mean the seal and if its the same then change ur ecu and check in that and i am sure it will get ok when ecu is changed couz i chipped my ecu here in pesh some ecu maker and then in that ecu check light was on full time and had missing at low rpm as u said in 1200rpm till 2500r.and where did u chip ur ecu in pak or u got a upgraded one?

this pic is of ur map sensor check the numbers also if its the same then its of 16v non tvis gt and if the numbers changed then try to find a original map sensor of Gt non tvis

bro...my car is a genuine factory fitted TVIS 4age celica GT-R.
its rear wheel drive.iv never touched the car;s ecu and i dont plan2 either.
ivnt kept my car 4 racing or for mods...its a geuine car and i want2keep it that way.
do you kno of a gud mekanik in islamabad or rawalpindi who could help me wid this?....i cant com2 peshawar..atleast not 4 a few months anyway.

Bhai g ghalti ho gai mafi day dou:). But, if one can use the option of remaping then changing MAF to MAP is not a big issue to be solved, coz defenitly one would use the proper sensor which could Map the air accordingly.

Wow man, u just delivered a hot(totally un-impressive) speach about y one should install a 3s instead of 4A.

The guide for dummies states:
First generation 3S-GE was produced from 1986 n in 1984 the 4A-GE was introduced as the replacement for Toyotas respected 2T-G engine.

goto madina autos in ahata mithu khan rawalpimdi, bcause i had the same problem in my charade's 4AFE so i went their from lahore hes also expert in 4 throtle engines n swapimg them in various cars now a days he replaced the throtle body with and map sensor n my problem was solved...
