"What would be the temperature today? "
"why is there no shade on KKH?"
"this can't be the 'Silk Route' ! are they ever gonna make this KKH?"
"back to stone ages, boyz ! "
and we were travelling on KKH at an average speed of 12km/hr after moving from the Nanga Parbat view point. No ! this speed was not of choice. We couldn't go any faster due to road conditions!
Making use of any or all water crossings to cool down the suspension of our cars, we were approaching Jaglot. We had missed a refueling point (PSO) and were now headed towards the Shell in Jaglot before continuing for Hunza.
FJ was missing badly by this time. It would not idle at all what so ever and we were trying to maintain speed and moving on. We thought it was because of the fuel pump, which did so under extreme hot weather before as well. Janj was at this stage racing with some Jeep and had moved farther. When we reached him, the problem was discussed and decided that FJ will lead now.
It had not led 5 meters when the left exhaust pipe was caught throwing smoke like anything. And it would die as soon as the engine will come close to idling. We continued on until we reached the Jaglot Shell filling station and inspected the problem more closely.
