And here is the 2nd issue.
What kind of Rocket Science has this phucking Tappet Cover to open & close properly ?
During some recent work (almost 15 days ago), it needs to open the tappet cover. Actually its blowby pipe was producing mist and it need to be fixed.
Well, after doing this job, the tappet covered was closed properly with its Rubber Jain (Gasket) and also applied a thin layer of silicon.
Next morning there was hell of oil beneath engine bay. I went back to mechanic again and he said it was the oil which may spilled during some work yesterday and it was already on the engine block. So keep driving and lets see.
As daily driver, in next 2 days the leakage didn’t stop. I went back to him and after thoroughly checking, he found that its Tappet Cover which is leaking oil.
He opened the tappet covered again, clean it well, applied silicon very nicely and closed it back. It took 2 hours. But he didn’t charged any labour for doing this.
After another 2 days, some oil drops were again there.
After checking its found that tappet cover is bit leaking again. This time leak was small. But it was leaking.
Now he advised to change its Rubber Jain (Gasket, posting picture shortly).
New rubber jain cost 2K and fixed nicely and again a very thin layer of silicone was applied.
But today I saw its again leaking.
Is there something which mechanic is missing ?
