So I felt like doing a comparison between my 2003 CL9 Executive against the 2018 Civic Oriel. I'll just follow through Rahat Bhai's format - making it easier for everyone.
Note: Both of the car's are my daily drivers - I prefer interchanging them daily (night and day) depending upon my mood.
Power: On a personal note I felt that the Accord's power-to-weight ratio seems to be more linear. Greater torque makes driving within city and high-way extremely comfortable and easy. Haven't explored the Civic's full potential yet (still at 450KM approximately) but the only significant difference I felt was the easier movability in the Civic due to it's light-body-weight, which itself is a crucial factor in power and performance. It's not at all a intimidating car - honestly for its size it feels quite small while driving - And yes, that's a absolute positive point for anyone transitioning from a small-car to a full-sized sedan. Obviously the 2.4 vs 1.8 comparison isn't much fair but honestly I'm not disappointed by the Oriel's performance at cruising speeds.
Sound: Both of them are quiet cars with minimum engine-sound entering the cabin - I think point to note is that the Accord when hitting VTEC-Crossover enhances the engine sound which obviously makes the drive more enjoyable at times - I doubt the Civic will have that crossover sound lol.
Transmission: I'd say both are equally good in their own ways - Accord's sequential gearbox is definitely more enjoyable - though Civic's CVT is extremely smooth, you'll barely feel the shift.
Stability: Both are equally good! - Need to change Tyres first to actually know better.
Steering: Personally my Accord's steering feels lighter to me in comparison to my Corolla GLI (2015) which I have as well- It's perfectly fine in my case. Definitely the Civic is way more lighter, especially that turning radius is a blessing! - I'll take the Accord only because I prefer that stiff grounded feeling in comparison to the Civics.
Brakes: Accord - Continental MC5 | Civic BG Luxo - I'll save this for when I change the Legends to Continental MC5 for the Civic. For now the Accord feels better (psychologically atleast).
Ride: Accord's drive is softer in comparison to the Civic's - (Note: Executive package came with a softer suspension-setup).
View: Honestly that's probably the hardest thing to answer: One's a 03 model other 18 model - if I look at things from a third-person's perspective the Accord is still a head-turner for quite a lot of people and well Civic's quite common nowadays lol. I'd say both look good regarding their generations. - I'd still take the Accord though >.>
Headlights:
Both have Projector's - Accord has HID's which obviously are better aesthetically but they're both fine. If Atlas actually gave the LED headlamps for the Civic like they do in the international models for the Touring edition - well Civic wins indefinitely!
Space: Civic is far more spacious in comparison to the Accord but honestly it doesn't really matter because I'm always in the driving seat.
Features: My CL9 Executive has far more features compared to my Oriel.
Accord: Auto-adjustable headlamps - Rain sensors - Heated seats (both front) (BLESSING TBH) - Full Leather package upholstery - courtesy door lights - glovebox light - sun visor lights - Ashtray with courtesy light - Driver Seat lumbar adjustment - Driver Seat electronically adjustable - Sun-Roof - Cruise Control - Premium Sound System - Dual AC function - Climate Control - Electronically Retractable side-mirrors - Key-Less Entry with immobiliser - Smart Card - Fog-lights (HID) - 17inch factory rims - Key-Less trunk opening - Privacy Glass Windows (Factory tinted).
Civic: Navigation - Sun-Roof - Cruise-Control - Navigation - Electronically Retractable side-mirrors - 16inch factory rims - Rear-AC vents - Key-Less Entry with immobiliser - Push-To-Start - Electronic Hand-brake - Fog-lights - Front-both windows Automatic (Accord only driver-side) - Key-Less trunk opening.
I might have forgotten some features but that probably sum's up majority of them and obviously you can decide for yourself which one's better.
Seats: Absolutely no comparison between the Accord's seats and Civics. Comparing them would be sinful.
Accord wins triumphantly!
Finally summing up both the cars - Accord is absolute PREMIUM and Civic is AVERAGE in quality. I'll take the premium anyday!
