CONOCO GUARDOL ECT ENGINE OIL
ConocoPhillips Has The Perfect API CJ-4 Engine Oil ForYou
Guardol ECT is our newest member of the ConocoPhillips premium heavy duty engine oil family designed to protect the new low emission after-treatment devices while providing enhanced soot handling, engine cleanliness, wear protection, film strength, oxidation control and thermal stability.
HowAre CJ-4 Oils Different?
The Api q-4 specification limits Sulfated Ash, Phosphorous and Sulfur (SAPS) content in the engine oil to protect the exhaust after-treatment devices. Since the new 2007 emissions-compliant engines are predicted to run hotter and generate more soot in oil than the previous generation engines, API q-4 will require a major increase in soot handling capability and oxidation control by the engine oil. Oil volatility has been reduced to maintain the effectiveness of the closed crankcase ventilation (CCV) systems, a new addition for engines to help combat evaporative emissions. So the Api q-4 oils are formulated for a higher level of performance, with new chemical limits and volatility limits listed below:
Guardol ECT synthetic blend engine oil is specifically designed for use in the latest low emissions-compliant engines equipped with exhaust after-treatment devices. It is formulated from a unique, proprietary additive in a blend of high-quality synthetic and Group 11 base stocks to provide exceptional wear protection, soot control, and bearing corrosion protection. Guardol ECT is back serviceable for use in pre-2007 engines so that even older fleets can benefit from its enhanced performance, exceptional soot handling capability, and excellent high temperature stability.

GUARDOL ECT BENEFITS EXPLAINED
Improved Cold Crank Properties
Another very demanding condition experienced by an engine is the need for rapid lubrication of moving parts during startup or in cold weather. Guardol ECT Synthetic Blend formulation has excellent cold crank properties, which mear the lubricant will flow more rapidly to the bearings and critical parts of the engine at startup or under extreme cold conditions.
Extended Service Intervals
Guardol ECT has the pedigree of unique proprietary technology for long-drain heavy-duty engine oils, known for prm continuous protection even under the most demanding operating conditions. Guardol ECT continues this tradition wi its technically advanced formulation going even further to protect engine fleets while they operate under extrel conditions or under prolonged service intervals.
The Synthetic Blend Advantage
Guardol ECT is formulated in a blend of synthetic and high-quality Group 11 stocks to deliver enhanced performance relative to an all non-synthetic formulation. Its superior base oil composition offers enhancements in oxidation and thE stability, low temperature flow for cold start up, improved film strength for protection during harsher operating condil and lower volatility. Guardol ECT is a next generation heavy-duty engine oil, allowing fleets to operate with less top-off under stressful conditions such as heavy loads or extended drain intervals.
