Hi, Nice thread and good effort from your side. Well for quite some time im trying to find Boss car music system to install in my SUV. Can you help me finding one. PS I dont listen to very high volume music but sound quality should be really good. i already got a boss system for my Bedroom but could not find one for my Car. Any help from your side.
boss is useless company. better stay away from it.

ur woofer is reaching its mechanical limits. no matter wat u do , the sub will not go louder then 22. if u want it to go louder , then get ur gain level down.

but yaar gain is the thing to raise bass level
if i reduce the gain , then it will decrease bass
gain is not bass level. it is a knob to match ur pre volts and to set ur volume. by reducing gain , ur woofer will give the same bass at volume 26-27 as it was at volume 22. thus it wil make ur system more balanced with the rest of the instruments.

what is woofer`s mechanical limits
i guess , it the linear excursion taken by woofer`s cone ,
i am sure , lets suppose pioneer have 9.4mm Xmax , i guess it have reach to the limit , it can go more then 9.4mm excursion distance
there for nothing can happen , no more bass will increase unless i get big enclosure (beam pass)
if u try to exceeed the wofer machanical limit, u could have a torn spider , weird bass noise like a tennis racket hitting a ball, burnt coil , broken tinsel leads (a very common problem with many people), and also if the xmax exceeds , the whole assembly could come out of the yoke pole (the round assembly on which the coil moves)
