each and every part for vitz is available brand new and that is the reason that car costs more than other counterparts

Tried to investigate the issue, I have noticed that there is a excessive backlash on both rear axle shafts which go into differential tube into carrier. (Tested after removing wheel and drum cover). Also axle is binding when I spin it by hand with handbrake fully removed.

Now if you confirm that my issue has been caught then I will replace these axle shafts or else I will open the differential to inspect any abnormality.

Cant say because I am not there to physically touch the item. Do the axles clunk more than 10 degrees of rotation?

Is the diff oil glittery?

Yes they have backlash of 20-30deg to be exact.

I can see the driveshaft and and pinion flange to be static while I am rotating axle in small rotations of 20-30 deg.

I checked diff oil also, and it is clean with no signs of slugde or anything. It was bit overfilled so a little amount drop out as I opened level cleck bolt

as far as i know 75w-80 is rare to find here.But you can switch to 75w-85 or 80w-90

Should 0w20 engine oil be poured in a 2010 Prius with 116k kms on the clock which currently has some 10w40 havoline?
Another thing there was some oil in the intake manifold and also on the throttle body (throttle plate to be precise) apart from a bad pcv valve could it be because of a bad egr or clogged egr cooler?

This uses a transmission that has a cable to set shift aggression. Is that positioned correctly? sometimes it can get stretched by mistake of mechanic. Check it properly.

is that also known as kick down cable in desi terms ?

If transmission is full hydraulic type then its kickdown cable, if its partly electric where the shift is commanded by ecu but shift aggresion is set by cable, then the cable is called shift aggression cable.

The backlash is not checked from axles, its checked from input pinion to crown.

The wheels having rotational play is not good, I would suggest to remove and check the axles or diff itself

Well I will try to source a complete carrier assy now. (If I could find one in good nick) and will replace it. If not then I will try to repair this. (I saw a video for innova diff, where the mechanic just placed a moon (C) type washer to correct this backlash.) The only concern is of proper seals, as I always make a mess with silicone.

BTW just last question , what should be the primary and secondary resistance of a oil filled ignition coil to be run with igniter distributor ?
