Hello People! Its late and I came back with my Car Civic 2010 which was admitted in workshop for 3 days and came back ready to cruise so wanted to share my story.
Actually Im just sharing the tale for a reason.. That is..people with same issue shall not suffer.
So I bought a civic like a year back in 15. It had a gear whining noise in 'N' that I ignored. During a detailing process a month back.. Water slipped into the gear from the dip stick I guess and would not cruise when put in D.
Went to a mechanic in hometown i.e. Pindi who said gear contains soapy oil due to water. Now we can first try oil change that might solve the issue if not then tranny replacement will be required. I, 1) was not happy with the whining noise and 2) had a good early experience of installing an electric power steering from Ajmal in Sultan Koh and 3) had some money on me...decided to go for a transmission replacement.
Hah, never knew that would be a start to an agony. Next day instead of going to Ajmal.. As referred by my friend electrician went to Shahid / Zahid in Sultan Koh (biggest mistake of my life) and bought a tranny for 15 k. Came back replaced the tranny a 4 hours job or 5 hours to be precise. Paid 4 K labour amd 9k plus for gear oil and coolant.
Started the car, gear changed smoothly so headed home satisfied. Next day while driving noticed the car downshift as soon as I take off my foot of gas so I was not able to cruise rather if I would pick up my foot for a second it would downshift.
Next day went to Shahid and his attitude was changed totally saying gear is fine its in my head I told him buzz off and then saw a gear attached to an engine. I told him I want this he agreed after a long debate and asked for 5 k more. Guys be aware Shahid/Zahid.
Next day again Gear changed by paying extra 5 k cost. 4 k labour. 9 plus k for transmission oil and coolant Geniooonnnn Honda.
Srarted the car and note this....the mechanic checking way is just push the accelerator and gear changed 1 to 5 and its ok. But my experience taught me its much between 1 and 5.
This time the gear had a weird problem. Everything was fine but while going from 4th to 5th on light foot the car will hesitate for a second or 2 and then jerk to 5th gear. That was hell. Drove it for 20 days and was confused it it the gear or any other electrical issue.
Changed computer and checked..changed plugs... Cleared MAP MAF sensor..changed plug coild...serviced throttle..and a few more things that I dont remeber..but same ****.
Yeaterday gambled again and went to Ajmal my man and changed gear from a half cut.
It like a charm back. I noticed the gear was all over the engine. Now the engine and pick up has improved.
