First of all the major turn-off for me in case of BRV (if the extra two seats are not needed) is that it is not AWD. It is being viewed as an SUV/CUV but IMO it is a "wanna-be-CUV". In reality it is nothing more than an MPV. It'd be viewed as a Mom car or strictly family-guy-having-more-than-3-kids car. You get a 1.5L engine, the same engine being used in City. Yes you get CVT, but no paddle shifters and majority of other features that have been discussed several times in other threads. It lacks the X-Factor that Civic has. I would only get the BRV if I really want to utilize the seven-seats. Other wise it's a no go for me. Though it is subjective, but the back of BRV is ugly as hell.
Civic (talking about Oriel) has the X-Factor, 1.8L engine, CVT, and everything that you want from a Sedan in Pakistan. I would buy Civic instead of BRV anyday, even if I would have to add additional 2-3 lacks for it.
I recently got the delivery of an Altis 1.8 CVT (don't want to go with Civic vs Corolla debate) but at the time of buying this car, BRV was on news and bookings had already started. Ek baar bhi ye feeling nahi ai k I should have gone for BRV as they are almost in the same bracket, because I didn't need an MPV/CUV/SUV. I don't need a seven seater as of now. May be in the next 7-10 years but not now.
