Canon Powershot s500 help needed plzzzz :-(

i have digital camera canon powershot s500....it have a problem that...somtimes it takes photos with pink sheets...pink layers....and sometimes total photo is pinky....and sometimes melted....this happens after taking about 100 photos..sometimes it happens after 200 photos....then 20...15...10...photos are of such type...i am very sad due to this problem..anyone know about this problem.. sometimes it takes photos which are totally perfect and some times pinkish..and melted...although the pinkish photos here which i have posted are not much pinkish...the camera takes photos which are totaly pink...and melted .can this problem be solved by repairing...where can i repair it in Islamabad...anyone plz help me i will be very thankful

after about every 100 or 150 shots...or sometimes after if i keep it open for 20 mintues continouslly...or if i use camera alot then it takes photos with pink colours...sometimes pictures are melted ....when i dont use it for a week then it takes photos fine for a day or two...but when i continously use it or keep it open for more then 20 mins then it starts doing the same thing again

It seems like the camera take pink photos when it heats up (as you said keeping it ON for 20 min or continous shooting).

The best thing to get your camera checked by some professional.

Sounds like a problem with its CCD (sensor) I'd an old Canon IXUS that gave a similar problem ages back. Get it checked by Canon and hope its under warranty ?

i dont know what happened to it now.......first it started took pink photos after using it for 30 or more minutes continoully....but now when i turn camera on it shows fully pink and melted image of what is in front of the camera lens....when i start taking photos it takes photos same as that of what pinkish it appears on lcd.......and when i take 5..6 photos...it gets ok...and starts to take normal photos.......first it was different....and started to took pinkish photos after 30 or more mintues......i have attached images...when i take first image it look like this (fully Pinkish) and when i take few....its gets like the other....i searched about it on the internet...i found that this problem is from canon only in certain models...and in those certain models...only 35% of the cameras have this problem.......canon have announced to repair it free of cost.....but i dont know whether canon Islamabad will agree on this or not can any body tell me about this?????...if you want to know more check the following links.....

Dude (SONY CAMERA)....looks like your camera's lens need cleaning my cousin's camera(canon powershot A710IS) was also giving same problem..its photos were blurred on the left side....the canon centre cleaned its lens and it got fixed....of if its not the lens problem.then your camera's CCD sensor might need cleaning ..show it to sony centre.... ...

my camera's whole image is heavily blurred,it cannot focus any picture

i dont know about sony centre in rawalpindi...In Islamabad one is in f-10 markaz and another is f-6 markaz....(super Market).......

i think lens cleaning will fix it...if not...if you are repairing it...maximum it will cost you 700...or 800....rs

oh Bro i saw the picture...this is ccd problem...this problem is same as my camera...your cameras ccd wiring is lose or some are missing....this happens if camera is exposed to heat or moisture......goto sony centre they will fix its wiring....

Dont think its a "wiring" issue theres hardly anything like that in the new camera's, most likely it could be the CCD some of these have design or production faults and if thats the case the camera company will replace it free of cost. Google for known faults on your camera model I am sure you'll get useful information rather than guesses from all of us

The Compact camera's like the one you guys have are sealed against dust so the chances of getting dust on the CCD is very slim unless you were rolling it on the sand at the beach ? and if there is dust on it it'll manifest as black spots on your pictures. This can be an issue on DSLR's.

Mate if your camera is Sony then you would need to go to the Sony dealer/distributer. I dont know their contact details in Pakistan. If it was a production defect they'd replace the CCD free of cost as its their fault it went bad. I know Canon has this policy so assuming it'll be the same for Sony. When my Canon IXUS developed this fault I found out it was a production issue and the local Canon dealer replaced it free of cost.

we bought this camera in 2004 from england,not used enough,
now its almost 6 years.who knows anything.

it means it has no warranty then how come these local SONY centres get it fixed for free.

local warranty mein hota to shayad kar dete.
