I am not sure why some people keep on talking about the price of Alsvin. You don't like the price, don't buy it. You gave your point, I guess it was taken. I don't know why you have to say that again and again after every 10 posts. Let the car come to the road, let's decide then. Its not like we have a super competitive market. The reality here is that a decent sedan with decent support and decent price is missing. Yaris is a good car at a good price, but the City is outdated and the Ciaz is almost discontinued due to PakSuzuki's lack of interest, so there is practically only one choice in that category. It would be exciting to see Hyundai, Kia, Changan and Proton fill up the different segments and give us more choices.
To be honest, I am not a potential buyer of Alsvin at this point. I own 2 Toyotas, and am not thinking of replacing them anytime soon, but I feel this constant speculative criticism is a little too much. Yes, the company mishandled the price reveal, the bookings and the information management, but it is too early to say that this car is a bad choice. I would like Changan to compete well with the other players, so that in the future if I am looking to buy a car, I can get better value due to the competition. But if we fail the car before it gets on the roads, we will be the ultimate losers. Especially, I would like to them to export cars from Pakistan, something the other players didn't try to do. This will fare better for us in the longer run. Auto manufacturers worldwide started from assembling, JVs and moving on to their own development. Currently, the big 3 have failed to innovate and move beyond assembling, I wish luck to the newer players in this regard and hope that they outclass the big 3 in this regard.
