looking at a 6th gen Exi's engine and transmission condition it can be assumed that perhaps if it has been in good hands it might just take down a new city if it is manual and the driver is good.
Other wise the city being new in this case will it down.
About the Prosmatec Exi, you dont shift to D2 to kick off in a race, D2 is only for inclines, always keep it in D3 when u are racing, let it come to 80km/h then put the shift lever to D2 position, let it go to 110km/h or 5800 rpm and then shift back to d3, this gives somewhat a manuals effect. One more thing dont floor the accelerator that doesnt help in any case, let the car gain momentum and then press the paddle till its 3/4th way, U will feel a difference in acceleration. Finally practice this a couple of times and u can utilize maximum power of ur car.
P.S:- Only go for a rolling start............. and start of at 30 Km/h or 3000rpm.
