Could some one clarify regarding the Alloy Rims available in the market that are exactly the same as original being given in Altis. Below are the one available in the market,
- Chinese (Which are for around 16000 to 17000, but I have yet to come across them. I dont know where you get them from in Islamabad or Rawalpindi and how do they look or what are their specification etc.)
- Dubai Import (Which are for around 29000 to 32000, and easily available in Islamabad. Dont know about Rawalpindi)
- Original from Toyota Dealership. (As per some Pakwheelers and Alloy Rim dealers they are for 45000 to 60000). I have yet to come across a Rim dealer who has these original rims at his shop, they have the Dubai Imported ones.
There is no difference between the Dubai Imported Rims and the original from Toyota Dealership. You cannot make out any difference, the finishing is perfectly the same, the weight of the alloys is same, the specification and details of the rims are printed or imbosed on the rims exactly like that of original and at the same places. The only difference is that the Dubai Import Rim is 6.5inches wide, where as the original Rim from Toyota Dealership or that comes with Altis is only 6inches wide.
Now I want to know what difference would this increase in width make to the tire, to the car and drive. Keep in mind that I am not changing the tire, I am going to use the Euro Star tire that comes with the car.
As per the retailers the Dubai Imported Rims have been made as per specification for Corolla's in Dubai, so they are original.
Surprisingly the Rims available at Toyota Abpara dealership in Islamabad are for 32000. So does this mean they are Dubai Imported rims too.
For your guideline below link can assist you on knowing the original (Toyota Indus) specifications of the Rim.
Can someone provide me the link to the discussion forum where an Islamabad based Pakwheeler had converted his white Toyota Corolla to Atlis. He had installed Chinese Rims and had got done the paint etc on the side skirts etc from Toyota G.T Motors, Islamabad. I have tried searching alot for that particular discussion but cant find it.
