You just said that I should look at the engine specs and that cultus engine is a 20 years old engine. Rite? And santro is EFI and a latest engine.
I would not talk on paper. Lets talk practically. And exclude CNG from the discussion. Lets talk about petrol versions of both cars. Odinary people dont talk about performance and 0-100 times when it comes to 1000cc NA cars. I am sure you will agree to this. What they want is that there car should accomodate 5 adults easily and be able to easily move. Now I am sure you will also agree that 3 adults cant sit on the back seat of santro with ease and comfort while they can in a cultus. Anyways since I am talking about performance
1)Why is a cultus the fastest 1000cc NA car of lahore when there are countless modded santros around and there are only 2/3 respectable cultuses here in the drag scene?
2)Why do santros lose to cultuses even when santros have more mods? Oh I thought they were EFI and that was supposed to be an advantage, wasnt it?
3)Why does a stock petrol santro loses to a stock petrol cultus? If You dont believe it. I throw an open challenge
In short its a proven fact that a petrol cultus is better in performance when compared to santro both in stock and modified forms. A santro is extremely unstable at high speeds(relatively compared to cultus) and has a sucky top end(again compared to cultus). Cultus is more stable. Even when coming to body mods cultus looks better. Search for GTI pics online.
I consider this performance matter closed. If maximum modded santros(headers,piping,exhaust,plugs/wires,frps, bigger injectors, intakes etc etc) cant beat a cultus what else do you want? And wht are the specs of the cultuses? Headers, and exhaust only. Just think what would happen when a race clutch, bigger carb, tb mods, head work comes into plays.
And did I mentioned that a santro has traction advantage. Modded cultus when launched has more wheelspin compared to santro even then cultus easily wins from a santro in aa 400m drag.
Now coming to
First of all you mentioned JOY. I would say that JOY is the worst car to land in Pakistan. If you or anyother member owns JOY that does not I repeat does not means it is a better car.
The manufacturers of JOY are not going to make decisions based on opinions of a couple of people but the whole population and whole population of Pakistan have rejected JOY.
If you say that JOY is a better car than a cultus than are you trying to say that lacs of people who bought cultus are foolish and mad and have no sense? Dude if you love JOY that is your choice and preference and if I and lacs of other people love cultus then its their choice. In the end you cant take it away that cultus is a hit and success. If it does not has EFI or ABS or AIRBAGS then dude hint Our population does not wants these features!. It is as simple as that. Even if now you dont understand let me give you an example.
I drive a cultus and I love it.
My uncle drives a LX470 and he HATES corollas and civics.
If he is given a choice to buy a cultus or vitz for his son/etc he would buy vitz obviously because he needs those extra luxury and safety options and can afford the poor resale and expensive parts. Now this does not means that cultus is a bad car.
Remember, your opinion does NOT MATTERS in front of lacs of people.

And oh btw mehran is a success because there is simple no competition for it. And yeh do keep in mind that people love mehrans. If someone is poor and cant afford better cars he never hates his car. Infact that makes him love his car even more.
