Yes I have studied this ride too. After some research I have concluded that I will go for vitz. The biggest con which I have found in Vitz is: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

According to my research:

Pros of Swift:
All new!! Warranty!! Excellent alloys and tyres. So no change required. Manual, so best for manual lovers and also may result in better\controllable mileage.

Pros of vitz:
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (the only reason why I am going for it). safety features like SRS (though I dont CARE about these thing, hon ya na hon). 1.0L available (best for ones who want to save taxes and fuel- but I am going for 1.3L as I want power and pick)

The greatest Con of vitz is the tyres and rims. I will have to replace the "Karachi replaced tyres". This will almost make my expenses equal to Swift. Second biggest Con of vitz is it being second hand. So one has to search extensively for clean, untouched, or atleast less touched piece with sound engine. This needs expertise and time.

Khair jinti marzi discussion ker lain. The only factor which have made me go for vitz is AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. That all!!

Do update me if I am missing something big here.

Yes Shoaib, Automatic is fun to drive, really very comfortable and pleasure drive.
I couldnt find one for myself in my budget...

Yes Allhumdulilah. Two things I saved.

1) Two way Alarm System. Just installed a simple Alarm system two days before the sale.
2) Headrest LCDs.

I have got both of these things installed in my new vitz. And the latest news is that I have got my vitz registered.

Allah karay Ameen.

I also changed the motor oil for him. Just told him its free from me. Also got a 45000 Kms General checkup from company (which included Brake service and engine service plus tuning) one day before sales. I also got its wheel balanced and alignment. I also got its radiator serviced and changed the coolent one day before the sales. I told him that you do not need to do any thing until 50,000 Kms. Best of luck.

As far as the registration is concerned all the process is given in this link for Islamabad:

EXCISE AND TAXATION DEPARTMENT ISLAMABAD

I registered it through an agent. There were ten documents which included auction file, port landing doc, different invoices, a photocopy of importer's passport, certificate of sale etc. I gave all of them to agent. The amount which I have paid is as under:

1) Registration fee: 15770
2) Late Registration fine: 2000
3) Transfer fee: 2000
4) Token: 384
5) Tax: 1750
6) Agent fee: 2000

According to the agent the "Late Registration Fine" is due to some law that every car must get registered within a certain time after landing at port. The car has passed that time.

Thats all Allhumdulilah. The agent got the ride registered with in one day. He told me that number plates will be available to collect within one week. The original copy will land at my home after five months.
