And oh yes, all of you guys will be interested to know that in India the Civic comes with the kind of interior shown in pic #1. That is---with the genuine, high quality, stereo system offered in the US, AUS, NZ. And oh yes, all that for the same price as the one Honda Atlas has set.
That is one of the reaosons I don't want to buy the new Civic (but may be forced to buy one by my family)
I would pay even 15.5 lakhs provided that it comes with the genuine stereo.
Whats wrong withe the Atlas stereo is that this piece of crap MANDATES that you look STRAIGHT at it to change channels/CDs/volume. Its all flat, so you fingers alone cannot sense where all these million buttons are. You think you are changing a CD to the next one, but accidentally you may raise the volume. So you end up having to look at it before you can do anything with it.
Now look CLOSELY at the UAE version. Unlike the Pakistani model, the stereo is not flat. So you can train your fingers to somehow "feel" where the cd/volume/channel buttons are. Then you can simply keep you eyes on the road while you change volume and CDs.
Thats why the 15 lakh piece of crap sucks!!!
I must add that I am speaking from my exeprience with the 2001 model, which has a flat kenwood piece of trash so you can never touch it to sense what buttons you are pressing.
