Okie guys i have been reading alot of stuff about honda city nd its problems here becuz em the owner of one.so i thought i should share my experience for the help of others.i bought this car second hand from my employer already driven 148000.as it was the frst car i ever owned i didnt knw much abt its maintennace.i had a lot of traveling,almost 220 km every day.so aftr 4 months i noticed the car was decreasing the oil on every oil change.there were also sme engine noises.i discused it with previous owner nd he sugested to go fr engine overhaul.i didnt ask anyones else opinion so i went fr an overhaul from a local mechanic.aftr overhaul the car was running smooth nd it was almost one year aftr the overhaul that i noticed sme gurgling sound from engine(my wife thought it was sme lizzard in my car,lol) it was like water boiling nd bubbles of air through water,it was very puzzling as there was no engine check sign on screen.few days later i got engine check sign and the car started to switch off at signals where i had to break frequently,there was also kharrrrr sound from engine when i put it in reverse gear nd this sound worsend each day nd could b heard even when i put car in D gear.i went to mechanic who performed overhaul on my car nd he said it was due to engine mounting.in the meanwhile my car started reducing oil as well.one day i was on motorway nd that gurgling sound was heard i stoped and checked the water randomly nd to my shock there was almost none left,i filled the water nd checked engine on next stop and saw that water was leaking under the dhakan of reserve bottle.anyways i went to electrician fr engine check light he said one of oxygen sensors needs to b repalced i went fr it nd that kharrrrr sound was gone ride became smooth bt it was still leaking water nd reducing oil.i went to the mechanic who performed overhaul on my car he said apki headgaskit urr gai hy wo change krwaen i said ok kr do he said if ur going fr head gaskit change then overhaul b krwa len dobara.i was like abi ek saal pehly mene krwaya tha he said yup dobara krna paray ga or go fr engine swap.then i read the opinions here nd asked a frnd who regularly buys cars nd goes fr engine swap,so i decided to go fr engine swap.it was one of the best decisions i made in my life 
i went fr assembly change keeping everythng else the same.it cost me 20k fr assembly nd 7k fr mechanical wages.aftr engine change i went fr tuning nd transmision oil change.nd the car was like a new one.made two trips from lahore to isl on motorway,it was amazing to drive the car,speed as well as economy was improved alot.o yes i used havoline 10w30 as engine oil.it has been a month since engine change nd i am having no problems with my car,alhamdulilah,so anybody there owning honda city 2006 nd having the problems with the engine as mine,my strong sugestion is to go fr engine swap.one thng i frgot to tell is that i overhauled my engine at 170000km nd at 270000 km the car was undrivable.if anybody has any questions i would be happy to help
