Aoa. Offbeat, Kin, shahzad, they were the best audio cassette recorders during that time. The new generation has never heard of those people, in fact i recall recently my daughter's friend came to my home and she told me that her MAMA tells her how a cassette used to work. My daughter made a movie on a cell while her friend used my cassette deck to load the tape and play and fast forward and then changing sides. She was super exited.
I remeber using Cds back in the 80s when we were in kuwait and i was like 14 years old. Then later when we came back i had few good albums like thriller, bruce Springsteen, bon jovi, queen etc. Later i started buying cds from our local market in 1992 and a cd would cost like 1500-2000 PKR. Back then a cd player would cost about 4000 i mean like pioneer etc. 220v.
I had a huge collection of audio cds and tapes which i recorded from FM in kuwait and the tapes i got from kin or offbeat, those things were stolen from my store / garage.
Now i have a limited collection and i just feel so bad when i remember my collection bcz i started collecting music when i was 12 years old and i also remember the first English tape i bought. It was wham- club tropicana album and then selection with songs like tarAn boy, frankie, part time lover.
